I would make sure nothing is exclusive and make sure it is available to everyone. Makes life a lot harder for scalpers. Yes, there will be alllllways be scalpers, but making a figure or a wave superduperrare is silly and, to me anyways, is like handing scalpers money, lots of it.

The Shaw figure is a solid idea, but again, the X-Men First Class movie was cut out of the action figure line up all together. I also wanted Azazel because that character is so obscure and wouldn't surface as a toy without this movie, and the style is pretty awesome, but it appears that the characters done justice by the movie depiction (lets not get into the whole Darwin discussion, because he obviously was done a disservice) will never see the light of day. That said, Hasbro dropped the ball big time.

Kind of revisiting the Shaw idea a little, but to expand on that and what I'd do if I ran shit at Hasbro...
A full MU wave of First Class. Just one wave of five characters, and then they can sprinkle one or two of those in future case revisions. It would've been a nice little change in pace for MU, and still would've avoided (which they did anyway) them having to design and fund an entire new line. If someone suggested that earlier I didn't read it.

If I were in charge of Hasbro...lessee
1 : Threaten all Major Retail Outlets that if they dont carry all of our assortments, they dont carry any of them. Meaning places like K-Mart and Toysrus and some Walmarts will have to carry Marvel Universe, or Suffer NO TRANSFORMERS, NO NERF, NO BOARD GAMES, NO BEYBLADE, NO STAR WARS. A Gamble, but Clone Wars and Transformers will always be hot properties and if they dont carry them, then retail sales plumet for those stores, and they are forced to agree to Hasbros demands. 2 : Sell Hub. HUB network is essentially a outlet for their old stuff and some new stuff. The new stuff is great, but the channel is hemorageing money(if youve been to hisstank.com you'll know that). Sell the network, and then shop its shows to different channels. My Little Pony and GIJoe Renegades on Cartoon Network, along with others. This'll get rid of that terrible Johnny Test cluttering up the airwaves. which leads me to 3 : Cancel Transformers Prime. This is out of my personal taste. Despite having Cullen and Welker, the show is terrible with a lil Wesley Crusher kid named Raph solving every problem. The show sucks. I'd feel better shopping the stuff around to sombody who might know what to do with it. Like... 4 : License Transformers to Man of Action. This. Man of Action is a good group of animators who know what to do. anyway. back to the toys 5 : Cancel Marvel Legends. Hasbro has shown a general ineptitude of handling the 6 inch figures. Poor quality(Despite some shining exceptions), terrible distribution, and rising sales make this brand dead. Leave the Collectable high end products to Marvel Select 6 : Attempt to Diversify the Marvel Universe collection. By this, I mean a simple mandate. I know Retailers want the well known characters, so we'll give them to them.....But thats 1-2 figures in a 6 figure wave. While Retailers will enjoy a wave containing Wolverine and Hulk, I'll give them Zemo, Shehulk, Beta Ray Bill and Rogue with them! 7 : Reduce the amount of Beyblade Products that are shipped to stores, creating more store space for better things. Beyblade chokes my toy ailes. I see it everywhere, but I know there is a demand for this because little kids like to battle, as opposed to just playing tag. So I will continue to produce the same stuff, but at a lesser amount so Stores will not choke on the product, but kids will still enjoy it, and I will be able to use that extra money for other projects 8 : Reintroduce Playsets. Playsets were everywhere in the 80s. why not now? Price is an issue of course, so limiting will have to be done. That is why I will make 2 playsets a year. Playsets include those gigantic Star Wars vehicles like the BMF. 9 : Star Wars Brand will remain relativly untouched. GIJoe will remain untouched because they produce about as much as Marvel Universe, but I will include them in Statement 1. Transformers has too much. This is of course because of Movies. 10 : In 2012 I will reduce the Transformers line to 1 single Brand, just like GIJoe. The Single Brand "Transformers" Will contain Movie, Classic, and Universe figures. There will be the larger and smaller scale figures as well. 11 : Marvel Movie Lines will continue, but there will be a smaller emphasis on multiple versions of the same guy. Ironman 2 will be a huge example of this. While it was nice to have so many armor versions of the guy....Good God Almight thats a lot of Stark! I will limit it to 5 versions of the main character from said movie, with Comic Figures for ALL LINES EDIT : MORE 12 : A ban on stupid vehicle toys. You know what I'm talking about. Those figures that hasbro puts out for movies that have limited articulation and are on an atv or somthing? A huge example is when Fantastic Four ROTSS came out and they had a Silver Surfer Figure on a Motor Cycle! Waste of Money and resources. 13 : An End to Grouped Bundles on Hasbrotoyshop.com. People want to buy the figures Individually, not 12 figures for 99 dollars! Save taht for BBTS and others. 14 : More Accessories for Marvel Universe! Multiple Heads, And items. Spiderman will come with webbing from his SDCC figure, the web backpack, and a swappable Peter Parker head. 15 : License My Little Pony to Paramount for a Movie Done by Lauren Faust! yes I'm a Bronie 16 : USS FLAGG! A New USS FLAGG for the devoted GIJoe Fans....and then I'll take that mold, modify it, and release it 2 years later as a Helicarrier!! 17 : Every Thursday will be Ice Cream Day at Hasbro Headquarters This I command as the Emperor of Hasbro!

Millions of people love ML so why cancel it? I agree with the rest of the things on the list |

I would make 3 3/4 inch figures of every Metal Gear Solid character... Rights infringement or not.

I love the over-the-top stuff you guys have mentioned. Some of it is as funny as it is unrealistic. But, this is a fantasy scenario, so might as well go for broke!

4 : License Transformers to Man of Action. This. Man of Action is a good group of animators who know what to do. anyway. back to the toys ![]() As to the above points, have you even been watching the show recently? The animation is great (especially if you can catch it in HD). Facial movements are very expressive, with numerous subtle motions and details that really convey the emotions of the scenes. And that's not even getting into the background stuff. The stories get better and better, with excellent characterization and continuity. And with each new episode, we learn more background to each of the various characters, places and events in the show. Oh, and Raph does NOT solve every problem. In fact, he's not even in some episodes. And in one episode, his Mary Sue skills were pwned by another Mary-Sue-ish character/event. If the only episodes you've seen are in the 5-part premiere, then I would suggest another try with some of the more recent episodes. Of course, if the aesthetic doesn't appeal to you, fair enough. But at least give it a shot for the story. I put it up right up there with Beast Wars and Animated.

First combine the 3 3/4" design teams for Joes, Marvel and Star Wars. Cut expenses and design time by standardizing bucks across all three lines. Also meaning quality is consistent.
Charecter wise release any charecter (Prof x) in a suit. You're killing me here. Norman Osborne, Tony Stark, Agent Colson, Dr. Conors, sebastian shaw. Why is it so hard to make a suited torso? Quote:
Also, each factory, a different contract of production, and costs and all the burocratic part. Last edited by rafaelwow; 07-06-2011 at 12:33 PM.. |
