Does anyone know where to find guides on how to take apart modern Hasbro figures? In particular I'm looking at arm removals from Ms. Marvel, or the gi joe movie line females. Also maybe head transplant from Star wars to Movie Joes.

But I'm sure others may appreciate any other line guides too.

Also, fleshtone paint color names for Ms. Marvel? Or Mace Windu?

This works on GI Joes, and I'd assume they work on MU figures too...

GI Joe Torso Splitting Guide (easiest method) - HissTank.com - G.I. Joe

I've tested it myself on the Joes.. The internals of the MU figures can't be that much different. Good luck! Hopefully someone else can help you with paint-related business.

That's what I've been worried about is how bad the should pressure would be on a scarlet figure since the arms are exactly what I need to use. >_<

My previous experience with cracking ms. marvel didn't fair so well either.

I'd like to know the answer to your paint question, too. As far as I know, there's not just a whole lot of fleshtone shades out there. I always just mix my own and hope for the best.

Yeah, I was afraid it might be something like that for a lot of us. So I guess I'm just going to the hobby store with one of Ms. Marvel's arms then. xD

No, did it by hand with a knife. after completely obliterating the tap half of her arms with pliers. Probably could sand them off still, but the peg part is warped to heck too. Then the crack in the chest was crooked so took mucho glue to reinforce the inside together seemlessly. The waist is still loose too on the mid torso. But on the plus side, I found out the arms are big enough to fit lots of lines, from joe to wolverine. Probably Annie joes too.

My experience with the MU figures is that they come apart easier than the Joes.

As for opening the Joe torsos, i have found that using the exacto blade and cutting the seam under the arms helps to open the torso without too much visible damage to the torso. I use the blade and run it along the seam repeatedly till i get down in between the 2 halves. Then i use the smallest jeweler's screwdriver (flat head) and push it in between the pieces (starting at the bottom and working up the armpits on each side) by the time i get to the top the torso 'pops' open allowing me to keep the pegs that hold the torso together in the shoulders.

As for the arm swaps. The arms swap back nd forth like champs.

I've never used a knife but I can vouch that if you use a bench vise, it works on Joes.

If you can get ahold of one or know someone who has one, try it out. I doubt you'll be disappointed as it makes a very clean break, and the pegs inside the body won't break either(at least mine didn't).

For the fleshtone issues, I think I'm going to go with Testors Model Master Acryl Paint Skin Tone Base Light (Flat) - 4601 ^ - eHobbies

The 4601 might a shade too dark still, but I can always add a dab of white if needed.
I'll worry about getting the other tones as I get to figures that'll need them.

I'll be trying more arm swaps later, with Indiana Jones Mutt, and ROC scarlet on ms. marvel bodies, once I find em.
