I'm sorry you fell that way, Mega. Surely you had to have liked other aspects of the movie. Can we all agree that Scarlett made us all happy? lol

I thought Cheadle played the character very well. Rhodey has always been the "I'm not takin' any crap from you, Tony" character, and I think that came across beautifully. Plus, War Machine was freakin' sweet. Though I wish we could have seen him "in action" more...

Thank you everyone for voicing your opinions.

Loved the movie overall. I would gripe that the end boss was just a shortened version of Iron Monger. Not good. I was hoping for that artistic concept version of Whiplash. The ending overall just seemed tacked on. I couldn't tell for sure but it seemed they were setting up RDJ to NOT be IM in the Avengers movie. That would be a tragedy. I was fine with everything else.

I wish ScarJo has used a Russian accent at least once, but it didnt make that much difference that she didn't.

Yea, I guess Black Widow's russian accent would have been good while in "S.H.I.E.L.D." mode.

Your right. I just never really tried to connect the comic universe with the movie universe. I have to go see it 2 more times anyway, my opinion might change of Cheadle.

I'm really looking forward to the Iron Man Anime. I really hope its based after IM2, because like you, I want to see more action with Iron Man and War Machine.

Meh. It looked cool but why build up a character that much just for the outcome said character got? Weakkkkkkk.

So good, needs more figures.

Seriously hasbro, you know who I mean. All 3 plus you know who!
While at it toss, in the female comic book series figures!

The movie diverged just enough from comics to be fun, but adhered enough to have soul of the character. Perfect movie almost. Only set backs? final fight could have been longer. But it was almost an intentional in joke funny too.

That's a good way of describing it. It's like we've been waiting for awhile for this and then it was just meh. Which makes it more disappointing.

ahem....

i respect that they attempted to draw fans in with various nods to old stories and themes but i just wish they picked just one and stuck with that.

also Exelscior07: checked your blog, why haven't you made a WIP thread of your custom Silver Centurion here? i'd comment on your blog post but i can't see the comment option. good stuff so far

Just downloaded a bookleg copy of the IM WM vs drones fight. lasted exactly 42 secs. But still Badass. I hope they put a fight like this in the Avengers but only longer.

I was a little worried after hearing all of these mediocre reviews, but my wife and I both ended up loving it. It wasn't as snappy as the first one, but it was certainly as entertaining. I didn't even think about the absence of Terrence Howard after the senate hearing scene. And the scene after the credits was just too awesome.

Saw it today, enjoyed it a lot. Still deciding whether I like it more than the 1st movie, both are great. I thought it was funny. Black Widow stole the show for me...never looked at ScarJo much before but WOW...uber hottie and she kicked ass as Black Widow even if she didn't pull off the accent. Hopefully the face sculpt on her figure will look more like her by final production. The minute she "introduced" herself to Happy I was shocked, and so were much of the theater goers around me.

War Machine...KICKED ASS..I knew there HAD to be a reason why Hasbro made figures of some of the armors from the 1st movie, I see what you did there Hasbro...

STAY for the scene after the credits, it is a better lead in to where the movies are headed than the 1st movie's bonus scene, you'll see why.

Nick Fury was entertaining, so was Tony's reaction to a certain "symbol"...lol I thought it was hilarious. Hammer was funny as hell too, I loved how he tried to "sell" Rhodie and that other guy.

As far as Terrance Howard, yes I missed him in the movie but Cheadle did pretty well. I hope Favreau and co come back for a sequel, this was an AWESOME movie.

I had a little trouble getting used to Cheadle as Rhodey, but by the time he was War Machine I loved him.

And Rockwell was probably my favorite part of the movie, the more I think about it. He was just too awesome. I need to get that chase minimate now!

Haha, yea, those were great scenes. Tony's reaction to that "symbol" was definitely one of my favorite scenes in the movie, especially being a fan of Civil War. Too funny.

Saw the movie a couple hours ago and had time to digest my feelings about it. First off, loved the movie - especially Rhodey/War Machine. I thought he was perfect. Even better than Howard, really. I think RDJ and Cheadle really hit on the chemistry that exists in the comics.

Yes, it did seem rushed at certain points and slow at others. Also, I could pick out different plot elements pulled from the comics over the years, but it didn't feel like they were cramming everything in and the kitchen sink. I thought the writers did a good job of melding all those different elements together.

I thought Ivan Vanko was great too, but was a little underwhelmed with Whiplash. His introduction, backstory and leadup were great but the payoff seems a little meh in the end.

And I agree the final boss scene was too short. I wish it had been structured a little differently (adding length and depth), but IM and WM kicked ass in that scene whether it was short or not.

I loved Black Widow and Nick Fury. Really gets me psyched for the Avengers movie. ScarJo kicked ass (literally) and Nick was great at trading jabs with RDJ's Tony.

I just saw Ironman 2 yesterday,IMHO absolutly fantastic!! The story was tight contrary to some reviews and the characters were spot on.Cheadle was a worthy succesor to Howard's impresive performance, especially the banter with RDJ.Speaking of RDJ,he is Tony Stark ,no one else could play this part. Miss Scarlett OMG,finally a Marvel woman done right!!The action was sick especially IM/WM scenes. Loved Rourke as Ivan Vanko, needed more Whiplash though. Highly recomended
