I keep forgetting that this series will even come out!

As for the figures themselves: OUCH.

Eh. The toys, like the series, are aiming squarely at the very young. I don't expect the show or the toyline to last very long.

I caught an episode of this new series and thought that it sucked. I hated the style and look of the show. The toys don't look any better.

Don't mind the style; I'll say the same thing I said about the animated Wolverine/Xmen figures; I'd buy them if they had articulation.

I caught an episode Sunday.. It wouldn't suck if they didn't make the characters kids. I hate Heroes Reborn and I never want to experience another scenario where Tony Stark is a teenager.

Ignoring that, it looked pretty cool. The armor styles were neat and I like that the Unicorn actually was in it. For some reason I'm really fond of that villain.

So what size are these? If these are in the 3.75 (god I hope Hasbro have),they would go down a storm.
The IronMan is pretty close to Movie Iron Man so that would be a BIG Bonus to have Movie Iron Man at 3.75 scale.

They made toys that look like their animated series counterparts, and that's... punishing us?

I have to say, there's quite a bit of ignorance and chlidish "this big corporation should be worried about me, a very small minority of toy buyers, wants!"

This isn't Marvel Universe. This is specifically geared at a different audience: small children. Hence less breakable parts, meaning less articulation. Hence "gimmicks", which CHILDREN find fun and love seeing with action figures.

Hasbro is a business. They know how to make these sell. Are they putting gimmicks into Marvel Universe figures? No, because they know we don't want them and they are geared more at us. These Iron Man figures, much like the Wolverine & the X-Men figures, are geared at a younger crowd.

If you don't like them because of a lack of articulation, that's fine, obviously. You don't need to buy them. But the whole thinking Hasbro should be making cartoon action figures with us in mind isn't fair at all.

On that note, I WILL be buying these, just as I bought the Wolverine & the X-Men figures. I bought those because they look really good on display. I don't care about the articulation, because I know they're not made for me.

But somehow we can collect completely unarticulated statues, but children's toys based on a cartoon, that's wrong?

Come on, just buy what you buy. This is like being disappointed Mighty Muggs don't have elbow joints.

Ok, here's my two cents on this and I know everyone has an opinion. I hate the "gimmick" crap and love poseability and accuracy but at least Hasbro has kept all the lines, Universe, XMO, Wolverine and the Xmen, and now Armored Adv., all in the same scale. I'm a collector and huge Marvel fan and while I may not buy every figure in every line, I want to try and build my universe with as many characters as I can. Same scale and 4 different lines allows this. Think about it if we only had Universe how long til the character you just could die for might come out. Sure 4 lines doesn't assure you getting your fav but it does increase your chances and then when you get him/her same scale allows for him/her to be displayed with the rest of your universe which ever line{s} you have. So buy the ones you want and leave the rest, that's my strategy, I love Universe foremost but without XMO I wouldn't have Sabertooth or without Wolverine and the Xmen I wouldn't have Nightcrawler. While I'm not a fan of the new Iron Man show, it'll be neat to at least get a Mandarin fig., and more armors for my Hall of Armor. Kinda long winded to say this: collect the ones you like but the more lines, the better chance of more characters for your universe.

The only way I could've said this better was to not leave it as a giant block of text just kidding

I totally agree. I can't buy everything, nor would I want to.

I'm all for the mandarin figure. But the lack of articulation in the IM molds means they won't fit in armory alcoves. So that's an instant no. Shame too, I wouldn't have minded one of his toon armors since they'll never revisit his 90s season 2 armor.

Guess I'll just wait for the super poseable rendition.

As for the toon itself, it's not so bad if you remove the fact it's stark and co. But with stark and co, it gets hate easily. In its own right it's not bad. It's just not the Tony Stark and Ironman we're used to.

And even as a kid, I wanted action features that suited the character alongside articulation. Nothing sucks more when playing than having yourself denied the key poses from their usage. Like flight pose, Repulsor rays, and this one only focuses on the chest blast.

The simplicity is whatever to me, basic rotary joints are fine. But if you're going to go this route at least let them be able to have their 3 key play factor poses. Flight, Repulsor arm shooting, and Chest blast. What's insulting about this is having such childproof play hazard lack of articulation while including pieces that a child that would need that type of toy would choke on. IE missles, his removable mask, etc. The same could be said to wolverine and the X-Men. Great idea, but the execution could have used just a shade more forethought. Like wolvie having elbows that bend, or Mandarin having a removable helmet, etc. If I'm paying the same amount for what amounts to an inferior play value toy, at least make up for it with that kinda forethought.

Though I do find it funny that wolvie's claws get such hate in reviews, when all you have to do is push them back a lil more to lock in place correctly. Maybe IM will fair the same later. Especially if they make a super poseable one with his gauntlets from the cold front episode.
