Found out I won a contest today, from my local newspaper. I was bored 2-3 weeks ago out of sheer randomness and sheer thought hey, I may win, well I did, it's about Christmas traditions, end up getting my example printed in the local paper along with my picture, and the best part..... $500 cash! FUCK YA!!!! this so rocks, will help me pay off a few bills here and there along with getting a couple extra Christmas presents and throw some business to some arkers on here. you know who you are! Question, for the picture beard or no beard?

Good for you dude. As far as the beard, that is completely up to you. If you like the way you look with it, keep it and don't look back. Otherwise, shave it and give your family a nice moment/keepsake to hang onto when your picture gets printed in the paper. By the way, don't go too crazy with your spending, as that is what most people tend to do and it never ends well.

Part of you is saying congrats as some of that $$ will soon be yours haha. I plan on paying $50 off to my mom I borrowed, $50 to pay back gf, $40 for transportation cost for my ride at work, $30 for an xmas preset for my douche of a stepdad, the rest is going to be combination random/rainyday fund, bills, and the rest on toys/misc. I plan on getting the ML faceoff 2pack IM off 1 arker, stealth IM from ML 2pack, ML antman and some figures off Lord Marvel and Peter Parker. the rest who knows, may spend on an impulse buy like a hot toys figure or an ounce haha. as far as the beard I think I'm gonna keep it, it's pretty ruggad and manly, combination flo-rida meets Ryan Renolds.

Thanks man, yeh I never win anything, let alone anything decent. This was a huge surprise. I'm heading down to their office in like 7hrs *should be sleeping. To get my picture taken for the article along with claiming my prize money. I debated about blowing the money on some Tom Petty tickets, or tattoos, but I think I'm going to do the semi responsible thing and pay off some bills and the rest to buy some toys and save a bit.

Do it! Whew!!!! Just kidding, they're probably crazy expensive. I do really like Tom Petty though, but I'm content with a cd or two.

He's coming to moncton in March? can't remember the date, but tickets go on sale tomorrow and it's stadium seating so for anything decent medium to floor seating is $180-220 range with vip being $3-500/ticket. So it'd be $400 for tickets for me and the gf plus booze, smokes and transportation, not really worth it. There's supposidyl rumours of Madonna and Lady Gaga coming this summer, other then that if something like RHCP came I'd be all over that. but Tom Petty as great as he is, isn't worth $200, $10 cd and a big bag of grass will do just fine lol. I got to see aerosmith,AC/DC, U2,arcade fire, steppenwolf, foghat, ccr, etc in the past couple years, and they're half the price and twice the act IMO lol. I'm still ticked I passed on snoop/ice cube.

HAHAHA, sorry, that's not Tom Petty in the least bit, that's Kenny loggins, pretty sure this is the song you're referring to:

Tom Petty is a more a mix of rock meets country meets stoner lol, his most famous song is " last dance with Maryjane" " let's get to the point, lets smoke another joint" that's his song lyrics, he's been around since the 70's.

I'm pumped to get him, he's 1 of 4 Iron man figures left for me to get from Marvel Legends, both faceoffs, series 1 stealth and destroyer variant are what I'm looking for. so he's going to be a nice addition to the armoury.

Yeh myself and gf chatted, not investing the $$ in Tom Petty tickets, now if it was RHCP different story lol. I'm gonna use probably half of it for bills the other half will be bank'd/spent on toys.

Congrats on winning the contest. Definitely buy yourself something really cool (after bills/commitments are taken care of, naturally).

Actually, he's had a lot more hits than "Mary Jane's Last Dance". Also, those lyrics are from the song "You Don't Know How It Feels", not "Last Dance." He was a lot more subtle in "Last Dance" than he was in the other song (well, aside from the title ).

Some of my favorite Petty tunes (besides the two I already mentioned):
Don't Come Around Here No More
Runnin' Down A Dream
Refugee
I Won't Back Down
Don't Do Me Like That
Here Comes My Girl
Free Fallin'
Into The Great Wide Open
Stop Dragging My Heart Around (duet w/Kiki Dee; mostly because of the excellent Weird Al parody)

I can take a pic later and upload it, the article will be featured in sat's paper, so I won't get to see it until then maybe friday if they give me an early copy. I'll post the entire article when I can.

Jason I know what you're getting at and I like it, however 11 is a little much, since my display case is already 85% at capacity haha. I wish I had no bills then I might of done something crazy like that. I already have a ML baf sentinel and a MU sentinel, good enough for now. I plan on buying off some arkers, ML face off 2pack IM/Mandarin, ML 2pack Stealth IM, ML antman, and a bunch of MU figures from peterparker, lord marvel and dogfashiondisco lol, aside from that pay back gf,mom, and some last minute xmas presents.
