I was just wondering if anything can be done about this? Just today he fell of my shelf and broke his arm off. Below are some pics of how it looks.

Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do. You could try to glue it back into place and just know that it won't have any articulation in that shoulder anymore. I think trying anything to retool or regain the pose in the shoulder would have more chance to break the entire figure.

Send it Hasbro and tell them his gun was too heavy!

Or just see if they'll replace it

I feel like Hasbro would say it's not their problem and that it broke not from their production but from consumer cause. I suppose it's worth a try, but I've never had good word from Hasbro CS.

That really sucks. Poor little critter.

As En Sabah Nerd said, there might not be a lot you can do other than gluing it back on. If you are a wiz with sculpy and a dremel, that might work too.
Due to the rareity of this little fellow, I would try looking up Hasbro's customer service numbers and try getting someone on the phone to see if they can help. I have heard of toy companies in the past of sending completely new replacements in situations like this, and while I am unsure of Hasbro's service in these matters, maybe you'll luck out and find someone with a heart of gold on the other end. I mean, who would turn down helping this cute little critter?

Best of luck to you, and let us know how it turns out. I'm actually curious to see how Hasbro would respond to this type of situation.

I got a response from Hasbro and this is what they said:

Jenn : Welcome to Hasbro CHAT, this is Jenn, how may I help you today?
James Huynh: Hi, I recent got a Rocket Racoon from the Marvel legends line, but the arm of Rocket broke. Is there anything Hasbro can do about it?
Jenn: Hi James! My apologies about this! I can help!
File attachment upload has started.
The file 20140929_094038.jpg (2644.63KB) was received.
James Huynh: here is a picture of the product
Jenn: Can you please tell me when this item was purchased, age and gender of child using and if you have the product there?
James Huynh: I purchased it just last week. I do have the product here
Jenn: Thanks!
Jenn: There should be some numbers on the back of the figure. May I have those please?
James Huynh: i think it is C-001D
Jenn: Thank you! Are there any other numbers?
James Huynh: the box has 41411
Jenn: May I have the numbers from the UPC bar code?
James Huynh: I think it is 6 53569 95647 1
Jenn: Awesome!
Jenn: I show that is a different fugure.
Jenn: *figure*
James Huynh: what figure does it show?
Jenn: Is it from Marvel Legends?
James Huynh: yes
James Huynh: marvel legends infinite series
Jenn: It shows that as being Nova.
James Huynh: oh sorry i think that is the wrong bog
James Huynh: box
Jenn: No worries!
James Huynh: 6 53569 95649 5
James Huynh: should be the number
Jenn: I will be most pleased to make arrangements for an exchange as parts are not available separately.
Jenn: Thanks!
Jenn:
I will email a postage paid mailing label to you, and the sender will be eMerchandiseReturnAlert@uspsshippingapis.com. Please allow 15-minutes to receive this email and be sure to check your spam folder if not received.

Affix the mailing label to the package, drop it off at your local post office, and it will be on the way back to us. If the exact product is not available, we will replace with an item of equal value.

Jenn: Please note that these figures are part of an assortment and we cannot guarantee exact replacement.
Jenn: Can you please provide your phone number?
James Huynh: so the message mentions that it will be replace with an item of equal value, will it be a different product?
James Huynh: -
Jenn: It may be a different character from that assortment. If no character is available that is when we would send a different product.
Jenn: Thank you for contacting Hasbro Consumer Care. Have a fun day!
James Huynh: so will the item ill be sending in be sent back if it cannot be replaced?
James Huynh: as well as the product?
Jenn: No, we will request the Racoon and if it is available we will send it to you. If not you may receive a different character.
Jenn: Regrettably, we cannot send back items.
James Huynh: so i won't get the broken figure back?
Jenn: No.
Jenn: Once the item is examined it is destroyed and cannot be retrieved.
James Huynh: Is there a way to check if it is still available, since I rather not get a different character since this one is hard to comby
James Huynh: comeby*
Jenn: We will be most pleased to request it for you but cannot guarantee.
Jenn: Thank you for contacting Hasbro Consumer Care. Have a fun day!
Jenn has disconnected.

Not sure if I want to send it in and not get back the same character...

That is really pretty distressing. Maybe you should go with their offer (at least get something for the money and effort you put into acquiring the fig) and do as Warmachine suggests (search for a loose fig on eBay - you may be able to get one pretty cheap minus the BAF part). By using this two prong approach, you get compensated via Hasbro and you replace the fig in the event that Hasbro sends something else.

Your story invalidates my theory that this 'new' soft plastic might last longer or be more durable....

Edit: Also...dude, take your number off of your communication post. Remember this is the 'world wide web' we are on here and you want that info to be private..

I applaud that Hasbro is willing to help, although that has to be pretty stressful that they aren't able to give you a straight answer as to whether or not they can actually help you.

Hopefully you will be able to track a loose one down somewhere, since I imagine that you already have Groot built if you have Rocket. Worst case scenario, they aren't able to replace your Rocket figure, but they send you another legends figure that would at the very least help offset the cost of getting a proper replacement. I would send off the little guy, and keep another eye on loose auctions or trades from other Arkers. Even if you end up getting another figure, and the replacement arrives with another Rocket, at least you will have a spare in case of any other accidents. In any case, I hope for the best!

There have been two times I had to contact Hasbro regarding their merchandise; both were ML figures (ROML Steve Rogers and 2-pack Deadpool )
Both times, the figures were bought from Wal-Mart and TRU and so they were still available at retail.
I was warned that because the item was part of an assortment, they could not guarantee I would receive the same item in return, and I may receive a different figure from the assortment or perhaps a suitable alternative. I foolishly took the gamble.

Both times, I was sent a toy that Hasbro felt was an "appropriate" replacement. Instead of a replacement Steve Rogers, I got a Captain America movie figure with a gimmicky shield action feature (I'm sure you know the kind of figure I mean). The real kick in the face was that instead of receiving a replacement Deadpool, I received an Incredible Hulk riding a quad!

I wouldn't bother sending Rocket in to Hasbro. If you do send it to them, you should expect a replacement toy that isn't even a Marvel Legend. At least that way you won't be disappointed with the mail comes.

They are actually very helpful but the assortment thing isn't really their fault at least the have a system at all.

My son's small Heatwave toy broke and they replaced it fine, they said I could have possibly got a Swoop instead but I got the Heatwave.

I had never heard if them asking for a return though.

I feel your Pain. I recently did a deal with Serious Lee and got 2 Black Widows and Mandroid parts so I could kickstart some robot building. 1 of the 2 chest pieces was defective. It would take the left arm no problem, but the right arm wouldn't go in, no matter how hard I tried. I contacted Hasbro CS about it, they sent me a letter with return parcel stickers and a tracking/confirmation # for me to keep for my own records. I sent off the parts yesterday and hopefully in a week or 2 I'll hear back. I still need to get The blue suited Steve Rogers to give me the missing leg to complete my first Mandroid. Then I need a head and 2 more legs. I have plenty of arms to trade if anybody has extra legs/head. Just throwing it out there lol.

I fix these kinds of joint disc breaks using my dremel, really thin drill bits, miniature screws (ex. eyeglass hinge type size), instamorph plastic, and super glue... or by just cutting the broken joint out and replacing it if I happen to have a similar one laying around. Really isn't hard to deal with.

Hasbro replacement sounds more promising than glue it back to become a statue, unless you prefer it that way.

Rocket is getting more common. I've seen him sitting on the pegs multiple times now, so fear not. If you can't get a replacement for a cheap price, just wait it out. Scalpers are starting to ease up on the little guy.

Hey man, ive had to take the peg out of arm holes before after a break. Grab some needle nosed pliers, toss your fig in a pot of boiling water for about 1 minute, until the plastic is hot and maleable, then you should be able to grip the broken post with pliers and pull it out. once thats done you just have to figure out how to make a new arm post for the fig and you will be golden.
