This is very, very sad if true.
It'll probably get replaced with a show with bland CG, and even blander writing, with no character developement.

Oh. So kiss *that* good bye, if it's just like the hiatus they put TF Universe and Animated under for RotF.

I hope renegades continues, honestly sounds like it might after they take a long break during the movie to avoid any retreads. We'll see either way I guess. Hopefully it's not gone for good, and just a hiatus until after the second movie exits theaters to capitalize on the brand leaving the theaters.

Seems odd in consideration of how it seems Prime is poised to sweep in and replace DoTM toys though. Would be nice if they could work out their figure branding better for Joe that way. So there is more variety on shelf, the figures we want while still satiating the masses for movie, etc.

I just hope this doesn't effect the renegades CC figure. That guy was badass.
Speaking of which, where's ashiko with bike armor already dammit?
I can't exactly support a line when the figures I want are never released!

It actually started getting better. I mean I can see why it would get cancelled, but the last ep with Zartan was actually pretty good, as was the twins ep. They need to do more stuff like that, but who knows if they'll get the chance.

Well the difference this time is that for DOTM, Generations will continue. Animated ended because PRIME was going to start on HUB and Animated was made in partnership with Cartoon Network.

Am I still sad it ended? HELL YES! Did you see the conceptual design for POWERMASTER PRIME in Animated? I.WANT.THAT.AS.A.TOY.NAO.

Man the last time Hasbro said GI Joe was going on a hiatus was the 25th line...and that thing ended up ending. Renegades has potential, I wasn't the biggest follower of it and admittedly, am not up to date but I don't like how it's being pushed aside for GI Joe 2. It's a risk, movie 1 didn't do exceptionally well.

Hopefully they will, the creative team seemed really pumped to work on it.

Am I missing something? Why would GIJOE 2 have any effect on GIJOE Renegades? Most of the cast from the 1st movie aren't even coming back. I doubt it will even be released in 2012. They probably have a new cartoon in the works and something had to go. Probably because of the new Transformers Rescue Bots.

The reasons are what they are. The key point I was trying to make though was they assured us Animated would continue along side RotF, and Universe was only on the back burner and would return as soon as the movie line ended.
Both were just BS.
And I won't believe a word they say about Generations until I see them still cranking it out come the end of the year (As more than just a one off odd store exclusive here or there).

I hope Renegades does come back after G.I.Joe 2, but I can understand why they would shelve it for the movie, at least from a merchandise perspective. I also understand that season one is almost over, so there would have been a natural gap anyway before Season 2 premiered.

I think this is the best show on the Hub. I really hope after a "hiatus" it comes back!

I'd rather have the movies shelved for THIS series.

I thought it was just undergoing a name change, but would be back still.

I hope it comes back. It and Prime are two of the best new things on hub right now.
I hope this doesn't effect the figures. I NEEEEEED Scarlet, Duke, Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes, and baroness!!! And hasbro, get off your laurels and give us Cyber Jynx with bike!!! Throw it in a wave with ashiko and his bike, and watch them sell like hot cakes!!!

Animated is more complicated than that. It was going to come back until CN just started axing things left and right. They even let go of Isenberg to make sure season 3 didn't happen like season 2 did. If it was up to CN we would have been done after season 1. So the blame on that falls on CN not hasbro.
Universe did continue, but it got name changed to Generations.

You have to understand one thing though. What hasbro plans now on the team level, can change in a few months because of the higher ups and retailers demanding something different. So say GI Joe 2 sells like wildfire, they'll push more movie toys as that's what retailers want. Same could be said to hasbro and animated. They wanted to do more, but retailers wanted more movie stuff. That's why they still haven't found outlets for the remaining figures. No retail outlet wants exclusives higher than a deluxe, unless it's a multifigure pack. So animated suffered due to CN's wariness, Retailers not supporting it, and hasbro moving on to the hub eventually. That being said though, it mostly falls on CN as Hasbro said they could continue it if they liked. Merchandise or not, CN gets money from ratings. So why they kept trying to axe it is something to ask them. Season 2 only got greenlit because canada's YTV ordered a 13 ep season 2. CN didn't officially order it until it was already made. That right there tells you something fishy was going on with CN. When a canadian outlet orders a new season and gets it made, but normal CN is still stalling? That just doesn't normally happen. Probably one of the reasons Isenberg was let go before the same could happen again with a season 3. CN wasn't in the best place fiscally at the time either after a series of failed ventures they've just recently gotten back on their feet from.

It's a business, plans change to what's making money. That's just the way business is, because the goal of a successful business is to make money.
I do think it'll be odd having GI Joe 2 in theaters without some kind of GI Joe new episode tv fix to help satiate those on the high of going to see or have just seen GI Joe 2, but oh well. So long as the figures still come, I'll be happy.

So hasbro, get cracking on that Cyber-Jynx!!! This time make sure you can fit her and ashiko with bikes in a movie or renegades wave! Just get her and ashiko with bikes to shelves somehow!!!!

Cyber Arashikage RULE!!!!
