Are you sure these are the exact model from JSI? Im a dealer and have not received a pic at all. In fact these pics look really like Century wings 1:72 scale F-14. I could Be wrong. If they are it looks really great.

How come no other dealers especially Merit or even JSI itself have these pics?

They will probably get images on the same day that the next planned hobby shows in Japan go on next month. Kawai Shokai is also releasing the Tomcat in Japan, if you guys remember, they were the ones who initially had the preorder up late last year for the Black Knights CAG version.

Also, I suspect that the model shown isn't entirely finalized with regards to paint.

wolfman, i'll hopefully get answers from sam at jsi real soon to all these questions. i find it kinda strange to that merit or jsi hasn't released any pics yet, but shin may be right. sam at jsi did tell me merit international would be the first to release pics.... well, what happened with that?

He may have meant official photos, the Tomcat shown currently may not be the finished production model.

this f-14 isn't one from final countdown, as the letters are on the outside of the vertical stabilizers in the movie. this paint scheme is a paint scheme that jolly rogers did use and is very similiar, but hey i like this one better anyways.
as far as custom work i plan on having jsi build and paint me a lite up 1991 flag tail version of the jolly rogers f-14, i'll post pics when i get it. custom work from jsi is quite costly however, starting from 1 grand up. the plane they are doing for me cost $1650, so its not for everyone.
as far as the details if this is the finished product, i should have that answer soon. but i'm sure it is, as looking this perticular plane up it is a one tone paint scheme, no white parts, which kinda sucks if you favor that, but it has to do with the fact hphgliders has copied righted that paint scheme...selfish bastards!

Actually I'd LOVE to see 1/32 scale jets such as the F-14 and more. While I love both 1/18 and 1/32, and am determined to get an F-14 eventually, 1/32 is cool too. More affordable, takes up less space, and quicker releases for variants. BBI and 21st never made 1/18 P-51B's but 21st did in 1/32 scale, even making the regular version and one with the malcolm hood.

If you guys want to see the return of 32x with jets this time around, make your voices heard!

Nice to "meet" all of you again guys, this is Giacomo writing from Rome, Italy. Really impressed by the pictures but I didn't see neither the pilot nor the r.i.o. of this "gattone", anyone has got details about them?
Ciao da Roma!

they missed the E above vf-84 on the vertical stabilizers, thats kinda funny, but i like it without it better. this plane is actually from the theadore roosevelt, not the nimitz, which is a surprise with the paint scheme. you can view the actual plane at the unofficial jolly rogers history page if your like me and like to compare them.

For the Final Countdown scheme they'd need the white trim on the flaps, underside, and the entire horizontal stabilizers.
