If only this company made articulated figures instead of statues - would be very interested

Have they been working in 1/24 for other lines? Or are those kit figures for model cars?

The cheesecake looks wonderful, of course

While I usually think the Bishoujo line is wasted on characters who already exist in an "anime" aesthetic, Morrigan looks really good. So does Felicia already, and it's a total "yes please!" for Mai.

That Morrigan looks fantastic. Man I miss Darkstalkers.

Who buys this stuff? I don't see the appeal. They costs a lot to buy. There is zero articulation. It's stuck in one pose forever.

Wouldn't it be better to do something like this with seamleass joint figures like the figure line tbleague makes?

There's an art to (good) statues that seamless figures couldn't hope to achieve. There's a lot to the dynamism, from the flex of muscles to the stretch of ligaments to the squish of fat and folds of skin, shading can be pre-painted to emphasize shapes and draw the eye, expressions of face and form both subtle and gross can be created beyond the scope of a poseable figure

I'm the type of person who can't wrap their head around MOC or MIB collectors (especially opaque boxes, like, it might as well not even exist in there!) so I get being baffled by a segment of the community, but that doesn't mean there isn't something more there that we're just not able to readily see on a personal level

Sneakerheads are still insane though. Buying shoes you won't wear? Those monsters kept me from getting Ripley's sneakers

Well at least half of all action figures bought around here just stand on a shelf in one pose all their existence, too. Statues are just nice display pieces is all.

But yeah, they can be pricey, and the prices have crept up over the years like most everything else.

Statues give you the truest version of a character in figure form when done right. The details and pose that captures the essence of the character gives it a sheer presence that an action figure usually cant top.
But yeah, its stuck in one pose forever. I like what the artfx+ line did by having a moveable head and swap out parts but last I've checked they've doubled in price so whatever and they're still closer to action figure size anyway.

Too bad those zombie figs are 1:24 and not 1:18.

Also, I notice there are no new Marvel or DC Bishoujo statues. I wonder if there's a reason behind this. I've been buying their comic based Bishoujo's since the beginning and it's hard not to notice that more recent statues have become much tamer and less sexy (just compare them to this Morrigan for example). One explanation is that this is Koto's choice, but my guess would be that this directive comes from Marvel and DC's side. God forbid that you present a woman as being sexy and appealing, oh the horror. :s

I don't know about all that. Maybe it's just the current character selection? Either way, I think the women of Marvel and DC should be a little tamer than Morrigan most of the time.

They're definitely going to be tamer than Mai, Morrigan, and Felicia.

I absolutely agree with you that the Marvel and DC statues have become far too tame, and yeah, it's most likely that Marvel and DC are to blame.

That being said, Koto just released a new Stargirl Bishoujo, and a Laura Kinney Wolverine Bishoujo is coming out in early 2022.
During my time collecting these statues, there have been plenty of times where there were lulls in the production of Marvel and DC stuff, and I'm assuming that this is just another example of that, and hopefully this isn't any sort of indication that Koto is beginning to distance themselves from Marvel and DC.
