Lego Marvel Super Heroes - April Release - Set Listings
A whole lot of potential info dumped all at once! We've got set listings, we've got a teaser image stating an April release, we've got a couple of set descriptions, we know some of the potential minifigs. We could be getting a Helicarrier, a Quinjet, a cosmic cube, a Deadpool minifig! Excitement just ramped up a bit for me. I assume we will see more of this stuff in greater detail come New York Toy Fair. |

Nope Megablocks and marvel are competitors although Mega blocks has had a good contract with disney ( pirates of the carribean line) also considering Disney owns marvel then they have been going for a while although i dont know 100% how long lego has had their disney contract all i can say is they will do marvel and will have DC figures to back them up unlike mega blocks unless someone can show me a mega blocks DC line so this year will go to lego simply cause of the minifigs

I like the way the "Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape" set sounds. Depending on how much it costs, I might get it. Hawkeye being in the set is certainly a big incentive (then again, the same reason is why I might get a LotR set or two).

BEST. NEWS. EVER. I'm all over the Wolverine set because I want Deadpool the most... I think I'll end up getting all the Marvel sets! I also hope they keep going like the Star Wars line so that we get thousands of minifigures of really obscure characters etc!

Definitely up for a Deadpool minifig. I might get some of the other sets too, but right now my building block focus is on Kre-O and the MegaBloks minifigs.
But this does remind me that I still need to pick up a Batman Hero Factory set so I can be ready when the Wolverine one gets released. Finally, a Dark Claw custom that even I can build.

I don't think I ever saw them drop in price, except for the larger Bumblebee set. But that was only at one Walmart and the one box had a hole punched in the front, like someone did it with a ballpoint pen, assassin-style.

I figure the Megablocks Marvel figs will be phased out. They can't both have the license at the same time, although there may be a short period when both are available until the MB figures sell through (like when MB got the Thomas the Train license after Lego had it) I've been working at a Toys R Us that sells a lot of MB and Lego, and I don't recall seeing any of the MB Marvel figs come in since I started in October.

Mega Blocks are actually pretty terrible, they've improved and they are still worlds behind Lego.
Kre-O is pretty much on par with Mega Blocks. I welcome finally getting some new Marvel Lego, it will be great to have some REAL Minifigs. |

hold your tongue gud sir! (sorry been watching alot of Spartacus lately lol) mega bloks are WAY past lego in the minifig department. 2 major parts are that the MB's have sculpted face and waist swivels. legos (last time i checked) have painted faces and no waist movement. so how is that better exactly?

elbows, waist, and knees? yes please! Legos are nice for the part swapping though. Overall as minifigs go I prefer megabloks just because their hands are compatible to the clip system on transformers. That being said, I'd love to get my hands on a few of these marvel lego sets and then use the Megablocks mini figs where i can instead. Lego rocks for the better build sets with details, but megabloks rocks for the better figures. (Unless you are custom building a figure.) |

Sorry they just don't work for me. The minifig is so iconic, something that's been with me my whole life. Mega Blocks and Kre-O just feel like imitators to me. Kre-O has lots of joint swivels and stuff too, giving it more range of motion and posability than a Lego minifig, so by your definition that makes it better (AND I am a big Transformers fan), and I still say the Minifig is better. But to each their own I suppose. |

So because a toy series is more "iconic" to you, you will simply ignore any arguments where the newer product completely blows the older one out of the water? Sorry, but that is just how your post came off to me. I really don't consider that a valid point as to why Lego minifigs could possibly be better than the Mega Blok ones.
Obviously I'm a big supporter of the Marvel Mega Blok figures and am a little bummed out that Lego now has the license. Articulation-wise, Mega Blok figures are almost like mini-GI Joes >: ) |

"One product blowing the other one completely out of the water" is entirely subjective. What are you basing that on? Is it on sales? Do you have numbers to back that up? No you don't, it is your opinion. You've already mentioned how you are a bigger fan of Mega Bloks so of course you think it is superior. I think Lego is. Which is why is said "to each their own". I even went on to compare it to Kre-O mentioning how they've added range of motion on the Kreons (thereby "making it better") and I still don't like them better because TO ME they feel cheap. Mega Bloks feel cheap to me, they feel flimsy, brittle, and I don't like the way they look. Of course I am basing this on the few Power Ranger ones I actually own, maybe others are better, but like I said this is all my opinion, maybe I should have been more clear about that to begin with. |

For a community like this where action figures are purchased because of quality and articulation, the Marvel Mega Bloks people are an ideal preference. As for myself (an avid LEGO fan), I think the quality of the LEGO sets will be phenomenal, but I would rather have the Mega Bloks characters.

Well, the nice thing about Lego, MegaBloks and Kre-O is that their bricks are all interchangeable (ignoring any issues of quality). So everyone can mix-and-match to their hearts content.
Personally, I don't really see a difference in the quality of the sets I have so far. Haven't picked up any MegaBloks sets (just the minifigs), but the Kre-O and Lego bricks are pretty much the same to me. Love, love, love the Kreons, though.

The Avenger's themed sets sound like they are movie based, Captain America could be too. The Wolverine and Spider-Man sets sound like they could be comic based. It will be interesting to see two different themes running at the same time. My wallet is going to be super pissed. |
