I can't imagine this. Lego turns down so many good Cuusoo projects because they aren't child-friendly or family-oriented, and then they make Simpsons sets? It's not the most adult thing out there, but it's certainly not friendly to their base target audience.

Or at least it didn't used to be. I haven't seen The Simpsons in years.

That really seems like a match made in heaven.

Build Springfield and their iconic locations.
The people only need lego fig articulation anyway, and their geometric tops and faces are perfect for lego or kreon pieces.

Though I do hope Futurama goes Megablok or Kreon instead. I wouldn't be surprised if they go lego next. For me it's about minifig articulation. Some figs are perfect for lego style, some need Megablok halo style. Skylander/PR styles have been meh and Kreon style is rocking.
Now if only MGS and MGR would go Megablok to be compatible with Halo minifigs.

Oh man, it's hard enough resisting all the other great stuff Lego is putting out. Not sure if I will be able to resist these.

Great point! This concept is so obvious I'm kind of surprised it hasn't happened until now.

As awesome as this sounds, Legos are crazy expensive. So we'll stick to our Simpsons Tapped Out App.

The most iconic thing to me about the simpsons really are their unique shapes (I've since stopped liking simpsons and jumped into the "Good god let it die already! It hasn't been remotely amusing in 12 years!" camp, myself. But I used to love it within the first 8 years)
You know, like bellies and mouths...

So I wonder if instead of modifying Lego figurines into simpson shapes (IE, like making a Homer head, like they did with TMNT), if they can make simpson anatomy as add on parts? Mouts done as separate pieces like beards.. pot bellies done sort of like the turtle's shells that peg in between the leg and torso pieces...

I think that's how I would approach it.

It never has bee a child friendly show. But that's never stopped kids from loving it. And Simpsons once had a massively successful toyline that was fueled by adult and kid collectors.
Likewise, Lego also has a large adult collector fanbase.
Most Cuusoo projects have a very limited target appeal... probably Lego turns most down more to "Not being worth our money, so few people would buy it" and use the "It's not kid friendly" as a polite excuse.
Simpsons would be a massive deal for them.
I can definately see this happening.

Also, this may not result as anything more than a very small Lego Store or Online exclusive marketed exclusively to adults.
If it results in anything at all.

The best thing about this show is Danny Elfman's score.

Must not say it.

Should not say it.

Saying it would be bad.

Screw it.

Then you can eat my shorts.

I am still not understanding why people are saying it's dumb they are doing Simpsons since it's not kid friendly.

Star wars has wars in the title, people getting cut in half, arms cut off, getting killed, and on Clone Wars a guy committed suicide in the kids show.

Darth Vader gets seriously mentally scarred and has massive physical trauma with bloody burning stumps.

I just wonder why it took so long as well.

Not that I would want an exclusive figure but, he would make a perfect exclusive he could have printed on him that he is MISB and touching him lowers the price.

What happened to imagination?

Just give a kid regular Legos and let him/her build what they want to build.

Secondly, they should have done this 20 years ago, you know, when Simpsons was good!

Ha ha, exactly! On one of the Lego fan sites, some people are freaking out. I started watching the Simpsons when I was 10 and kept with it until I was about 20. I'm 33 now, and I think I turned out okay. It's a family show on at a family time.
