Gotta admit I am pumped about these Green Lantern figures. Been wanting them for a long time in this scale. If that Justice League pack is 3.75" then pretty much all my DC needs would be met except they need some Sinestro Corps members.

Yeah....so its probably a good thing I didn't go to the Con this year...
...because if had stumbled upon this display in person, there's probably a good chance I'd just smash the glass and try to snag as many of those awesome little figures from the GL display before security tackled me....

Could we please get an update on the Arkham City line? We have not gotten any confirmation on future waves. Only "more stuff is coming in 2013". So, can we get an idea of WHAT is coming? Waves? Deluxes? What??

God yes, I hope all those GL figures end up at comic shops. I'd buy em all up at a 20 dollar 2 pack price point. I want that OA playset too!

I'm so excited my boy won me one of the Kyle Rayner and kilowag 2 packs he gonna ship it to me Monday I can't wait to get it. And if they release these in comic stores I will buy every figure they release. I've been waiting so long for a GL line like this and just a dc universe line period. But I'm a GL and bats fan with a little flash in there so if they could hurry up and pump out these figures so they can take my money.

I'm starting to like the new 52 Green lantern better than my BN Green Lantern.

Got the dc direct two pack today and man these little.guys aee badass! Alot more solid than any.marvel universe figure ive messed with. They feel dense and good. Only qc on mine is a stuck thigh swivel on kilowog and a loose hip joint on kyle. Kyles is easy to fix.

Also their articulation is stellar!

Points are:
Head- balljoint
Shoulder-universal hinge
Bicep-swivel
Elbow-single hinge
Forearm-swivel
Torso-balljoit
Ab crunch
Hips-balljoint
Thigh-swivel
Knees-double hinge
Shin-swivel
Feet-hinge

My favorite point is the thigh swivel which is brilliantly hidden with sculpting on the upper legs. Honsetly didnt.expect this.joint till I twisted Wogs leg. So badass a set and well worth the pickup.

So heres some pic of the set!

Heres everything you get

Kyle shots

Kilowog shots

Size comparisons:

Star wars VC

Marvel Universe

They scale much better to Star wars toys than marvel ones which is a bit of shame.

Fun pics

Overall still really good figures! The scale with Marvel might detract some, but not this guy! Also after having Scarlet Spidey in the shoot and messing with both. The GL figs just feel more solid where as spidey just feels like he made of rubber. The quality is vastly different.

Thanks for the pictures! You did choose a tall body mold though. I am sure he would look great next to Shadowland DD.

I'm shocked Mattel took this look to make a quality product. Seriously Mattel how long did you drag ur ass with weak offerings like "dc infinite heroes" and whatever those green lantern figures were supposed to be. This was always going to be a good revenue stream as long as the articulation, scultping, and variation stay decent. Now admit that you couldnt make a action figure line work without the support of the adult collectors. Hope the Mattel marketing guys got the message. But it does hurt when you consider how long it took them to get to this point. Especially with the success Hasbro had with Marvel.

I hope/think Mattel will see this and realize they are missing a big opportunity here with the smaller scale.

To me, it seems like Mattel seems to follow DC Direct's (DC Collectables') lead on making a lot of their stuff. DCD made Watchmen; now Mattel is doing it. DCD did Blackest Night; much later Mattel worked some rainbow lanterns into wave 17 of DCUC (and they are still playing catch-up, with the offerings for CIE 2013). DCD is still in the lead for offerings from the Arkham video games, but Mattel has offered them. DCD will be releasing the core team of New 52 before Mattel will be. It would not surprise me at all if, by next SDCC, we see Mattel doing some good 4" figures. And they'll probably be 4" not 3.75".

And it seems like Mattel can't do the small scale well. So now they'll see what DCD is doing here, and have time to recruit a team that can do the scale well. I mean, they did 6" good but not great, so they got the Four Horsemen to do it. I'd think a year's time is a right amount to hire some folks and at least get some good prototypes together for a release in Spring 2014.

Also, it looks like everything DCD is doing is Green Lantern-centered. Mattel could start with Batman (we know how much Mattel loves pumping out Batman lines) and Superman stuff -- just like DCSH.

That's my hope at least. . .

My bad about the mattel hate rant. Good call Optimus_Prowl, it is dc direct making the figures. Or is it DC collectibles? And that brings up the next question "why does mattel have the brand license and not want to make a 3-3/4 line?" At least the poor souls from mattycollector wont have to answer any more "So why cant you make a decent 3-3/4 dc universe figure?" those pics look awesome

I don't really know why I bought these, but they were CRAZY easy to get. Sunday afternoon you could walk up to the booth and grab two anytime.

I tried to get them every day I was there. They made you go upstairs to the autograph area, and get a ticket. But, they didn't have dedicated space, so the ticket giver was only there certain times. Every time I had time to go up there, they weren't there.

I think that really messed people up. It's something they wanted, but not something they wanted to plan around making a 30 minute trip upstairs at a specific time, one which probably interfered with something else they were doing.

As soon as I saw the "No ticket needed" sign, I bought 2.

Personally, I think if the tickets weren't needed, they would have sold out. But I can't say for sure.
