Lastly for this week, I took a shot at a Herald I haven't seen much of. The first Herald, at that. Galactus' first attempt at creating a servant for himself. Instead of giving him the power cosmic, he gave power over dark matter. The ability to enhance his own natural skills, control time and space, create black holes, and create pocket dimensions. He was eventually brain washed by Thanos into becoming his own Herald and killed during Annihilation.

I was going to go with a smaller body, but I knew I wanted to use the Samson head, so I had to pick something larger. I knew I couldn't give his hair the transparent, starry look it has in the comics, but I wanted to get close. I painted steel, then clear blue to give it a metallic look, then used dullcote to dull it down. The result actually gave the hair a varying look. Some places shine, others are dull, and some even faded. The effect actually came out better than I expected.

Great recipie and I may have to steal it, but I think he's supposed to be deep metallic blue...or possibly an almsot black metallic color.

I love the eyes on him- really nice.
Nice job on the hair- it's almost what I use for hot glue effects...maybe it's worth trying some of that glitter paint with your technique of silver then clearcoat? Could lead to a nice "cosmic awareness" look for a Genis Vell.

Either way, Thanos made him his bitch and then Teneborus and Agis destroyed him.
No loss- he was a crazy tool.

Yeah, I think quite a few have, I just haven't come across them. Though, now they seem to be popping out of the woodwork. Saw the same recipe just posted on another site. lol Ah well.

Yeah, I really should have done him in gloss. I wasn't thinking about it at the time. But seeing it posted, right next to the picture, I realize gloss would have been a better choice. lol
