Merry Christmas or whatever they celebrate in the 25th century to cast & crew - who hopefully enjoy a well deserved break - and fans of "The Orville"! Lucky are those who have a food synthesizer

My buddy Kit gave me his extra Marvel Legends Korg, from Thor Ragnarok, a movie I dislike and do not recall.

I immediately utilized him as Traag... or a rock soldier, at any rate.

Wow. Ragnarok is my favorite of the MCU.

Yeah, I'm definitely in the minority. For me, its humor was a crutch; it felt like the filmmakers were too cowardly to allow the story to be earnest for more than sixty seconds at a time. It made it impossible for me to care about or invest in or respect the tale.

I'm the exact opposite. I LOVED the humor. For me, Infinity War, Endgame, and many other MCU movies over the past couple of years have taken themselves WAAAY to seriously. The MCU is becoming the DCU, and Shazam and Aquaman are more MCU than a lot of the post Civil War films.

I'm really old school in my comics and their movies. I LOVE the 70's/80's Superman films. The first is STILL the greatest comicbook hero film ever imho. It's a sweet, soft film. It has tons of personality. Today, every movie is trying to be a harder, darker take of it's predecessor. Thor Ragnarok threw that all off. It had humor, Thor had a real personality (instead of hammer this, hammer that, flex, repeat), and Hulk was the best from ANY of his appearances. Jeff Goldblum was just a peach. Everything about it just really meshed well. Sadly, everything after it was really mediocre. I'm in a minority as well, since I see Infinity War and Endgame as 2001-era video game cutscenes. Those movies are BORING.

Oh, I feel ya. I would suggest that if any movie ever earned its serious tone, it is Endgame, and it did still manage to be playful, but while I tire of the same quippy tone in every damn MCU movie, I too am likewise wary of superhero movies that go out of their way to be too dark or edgy.

With Ragnarok, though, it just felt like Marvel sucked at telling Thor stories so instead they told a Guardians of the Galaxy story starring Thor.

I love the first one, although Lois's rhyming interior monologue is embarrassing as hell. I hated the second and never saw the third or fourth.
