Thank you!

Astra, you have McFarlane's Stranger Things figures so you presumably know what you're getting into, but the Trek figure articulation is the usual frustrating/ugly/useless mess, and Picard's likeness is off and even Kirk looks subtly off from some angles (something with the paint on the eyes, I think).
I also have their original 5" X-Files figures and I guess anything is an improvement over that! I never liked the statues they did. The LOST figures looked nice and in nice poses, but what do you do with them other than just putting on a shelf? I don't even know if I would want to buy a complete TOS crew from them since I already have the Diamond Select Version and so far it has been enough. But you never can have too many Kirks I say! Probably, don't ask me, it's been a long time since I bought them. But yeah, they came with the little screwdrivers and extra wheels. I see that you also can get little halfpipes for stunts - cool! The one that has more comic style which Dustin is holding is from a children magazine that I bought in the UK. It also had a golden trophy which I liked. ![]() Last edited by Astra; 09-08-2018 at 11:14 PM.. |

This is Masha, she has an incredible amount of dollhouse stuff - people think I have much, but her collection is much bigger. And she does really lovely scenes with it. I love especially her Gotham pictures of course but we also seem to have a similar taste in other fandoms. And she is the one that started to put Penguin into the top hat that inspired me today: https://www.instagram.com/masha.k1992/ Then I like this guy very much, he also is not afraid of having fun with his figures, and like DTL I always appreciate that. The weirder the better: https://www.instagram.com/steph.kurniadi/ And just yesterday I found Berol who also does amazing pictures, although many are about weed ![]() Finally this guy who does mostly Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, but in real water and jungle and I think they're amazing: https://www.instagram.com/realtoyscene/ So if you have a couple of hours start scrolling until you hit the end. It's worth it. |

DarkToyLord, I bought that wee dog and his weinermobile in an educational toy store in a hippie town; the fact that his ride is identified specifically as a "veggie dog" was so hilariously on the nose that I had to have him.

I came very close to buying Locke recently, 'cause I have a great spot to photograph him. I bought a bunch of MiniMates, instead.

The ones I did not buy were only because I didn't care for how they looked. Sawyer, Kate, Jack, and Shannon (though in retrospect I should have grabbed her) did not make the cut. i took like 2 pics of them within the last year i think.. *looking* yup.. ![]() *i didn't like the other one..so i removed it. * Last edited by Augustus_Cole; 09-09-2018 at 10:53 AM.. |

You managed to make that Jin figure work! Some of the poses and scenes they chose were so weird. Like, running with hands bound and sunbathing are definitive moments for the characters? So odd.
I had Locke and Hurley back in the day, but I wasn't photographing toys back then, alas.

That's really good DarkToyLord, the angle works well!
I watched Lost from start till end. I wanted to stop several times but somehow they always sucked me back in. I had no idea what was going on anymore but I loved the actors and characters. But I never really was in the fandom, trying to figure it out or having theories. I just enjoyed. I remember briefly considering sunbathing Shannon as I thought one can always us an ordinary woman (figures where I am not in the fandom tend to get used as regular guys in my pictures and I pray they don't get recognized) but then I thought better of it ![]() I know a lot of people also complain about Diamond Select Toys statue-like Star Trek figures but I actually do like them. The Kirk and Spock set were the first Star Trek I ever bought. The sets are always a big draw to me but I also really do like the interchangeable legs and arms. It still gives you natural poses where you don't see ugly knee joints and Spock is able to kneel in a special position you could never achieve with knees, not even double jointed ones. ![]() ![]() So I think those combine the best from both worlds. Heh, I just realized that I have yet another McFarlane figure I keep forgetting about - Jack Bauer and yes, he is also very stiff. He can move his arms and waist but is stuck in the gun pose but then again he is only one of two of my figures that actually grabs his gun perfectly! The other one would be Nathan Drake. So I kept thinking of what else I could do with Kirk and Jack in this pose, and came up with this: ![]() ![]() |

I watched Lost all the way through twice, despite its flaws. Also, I desperately want a diorama like that DST Enterprise panel, but much larger.
Ha ha, that's rad!

thnx and thnx..
LOST is still my all time favorite show (non-comedy) Seasons 1 - 4 was just my absolute favorite isht ever... i recall literal jaw-dropping moments. But like many American shows...they can't just make it finite...they need to push and make more money, even when no further good ideas are there. The last two seasons didn't even make any sense...they had clearly shot their load and the show should have been brought to a close, when the time travel nonsense happened..they just LOST me. PLUS...early on they said it wasn't purgatory..which is EXACTLY what it ended up being...more or less. |

Sure thing. It's a fantastic line that sadly never caught on and ended way too early. You can find the majority of the figures for pretty cheap.

Nice painting gallery!
Last week we visited a company that makes incense cones. They also sell tiny stoves and ovens where you can put them in. I bought this crocheted pot holder, it inspired me for today's story. While Alfred is bandaging his burnt hand Bruce gives him a handmade pot holder. He takes needlework in school. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
