with all the hype about mayweather vs. pacquiao set aside.....who do you guys think will come out victorious on september 15th....mexico's julio cesar chavez jr. vs. argentina's sergio maravilla martinez? any boxing heads in this toy forum?

Chavez Jr. has a lot of good things going for him. The kid can flat out box. But MARAVILLA is indeed marvelous. he's wicked. #3 pound for pound best boxer in the world. not too shabby. i think Martinez wins that fight and Chavez Jr. becomes a better fighter because of it.

Canelo Alvarez, however, is the next Mexican superstar. THAT kid is the real deal. Absolutely electric.

i like that response...i see it like this...if sergio dont knock him out or down and it goes to distance then chavez wins by a robbery. after all we know how much of a scumbag bob arum is and top rank...chavez aint seen nothin like martinez.

as far as canelo i feel the same way...he is the future. hopefully he gets a shot with mayweather or pac...now that would be awesome.

hats off to JR. for duking up during that last epic round. unbelievable display by both fighters. its safe to say though that Martinez outright won the fight. Jr. could barely keep up with him until the final rounds, which is a double-edged sword. Jr was hoping to knock him out, which he almost did.

i'm glad Martinez got the decision. restores the faith i have in Boxing. i would love to see Canelo/Mayweather or Canelo/Pac, but i feel Canelo would be destined to lose - and not by being out-boxed or knocked out.

yeah man. that was one hell of a fight...chavez has an iron chin for sure. martinez on the other hand was spectacular, a real master and technician. i knew his speed was gonna be too much for jr....anywaY people are saying that canelo might face cotto next...i would like to see that. pacquiao vs marquez on december 8th lol...i dont wanna see it but those two will never give you a boring fight.
