I know that feeling, I'm no longer doing pre orders on ebay any more. Takes too long and they get it and they don't do an update...ugh.

My rule of thumb is to never charge more than what you paid for for a new release, unless someone specifically asked you to pick it up for them, otherwise it's your choice to spend the time /gas money to find it

Just got this in today from Black Arbor. Christopher Reeve has always been my favorite Superman and this figure is a superb likeness.

On Sunday I finally found TDKR Superman and part 1 Batman at my Wal-Mart, they only had the one Supes left but all of the case's Bats were there for my picking and then I don't really care about the Son of Batman. For both figures I like the articulation well enough but the ankles really show their age by only having a hinge, so many figures have rockers now that it is a little bit of a noteworthy absence here but not enough to hurt my overall feelings of both toys' articulation. On Supes I like the way the blue and red came out but leaving out the yellow 'S' on the back of his cape seems a little weird. Would it really have been so much more cost per figure to put it there, or maybe they just forgot about it? I'm not a fan of how they made his signature hair curl a separate piece either. Mine is alright, attached in the right place with only the faintest sliver of skin color showing through (not enough to easily detect), but I could see how even a slightly misplaced one could really hurt the look for someone. Lastly on Supes, I like that he comes with the kryptonite arrow but it doesn't really fit in his hand all that well. It's better than nothing I guess. For Bats I think the colors came out really well, the blue is dark but not too dark and then the grey with the darker grey wash is nice. It's good to see the black on yellow chest emblem in toy form but I definitely had to go through all the Bats at my store to find the best one as some were notably less than well done. The paint on the cowl was also a thing to watch out for as a lot of them were kinda blurry or splotchy but strangely they all had good eyes. I really like that Bats has a batarang but maybe including his rifle too would've been neat. Like I said I got these on Sunday but I waited to open them until today because today I went to Hastings where they have the DCC TDKR 4 figure box set which I was thinking about getting instead and then returning these or whatever but then I found the DCC 4 pack and realized that it was $70 plus tax for what are basically statues (each one only has like 3-9 POA) and even then the paint apps weren't superb so I stuck with the new Wal-Mart ones.
While still at Hastings though I found the PX version of MKX Kitana and also Select Deadpool so I got those. I picked the PX Kitana over the regular since she just has better accessories (Jade's Weapons, and Jade is my favorite of the 3 ninja women but with the line over now Jade's never gonna get a toy). The blood splatter paint works well and like the other Mezco MKX figures the joints move well but are sturdy and allow for some good range. Regarding Deadpool, I had seen one before but passed due to money restraints at the time but now I could get him. It looks good (though not 100% accurate to the comics since the black on his side doesn't extend to his thighs) except for the head. It's too short or something, or maybe the rest of him is a little too big. He has a great little arsenal but not great posing options. The ankles are stupid-loose so it's a good thing he comes with a base. I like it overall as a fan of Deadpool and as a display figure but as a figure to mess with he's not as amazing.

I've seen those dark knight figures a lot, they don't seem to be moving particularly well in my area.

I really wanted the PX kotal kahn blood god figure after seeing the official photos of it.. But once I saw photos of it in hand, I was less impressed. I knew it would be more dull in person, but it was a bit too dull. My biggest problem with it is the very conservative amount of blood splatter, especially on his face.. That's what ultimately turned me off from getting.

Lastly.. The return key is your friend!! Lol.

My area only just got the DKR figures and I didn't want to pass. People aren't really as familiar with that story any more but regardless of how pretentious he is now Frank made a damn good book.

LOL indeed, I got carried away typing there. I only hit enter once and didn't really look at the final post.

Totally scored on this ML Baron Zemo!
Stopped by this "rural" walmart and lo and behold, there he was, not even on the peg. Picked him up, price-scanned him, showed $15.83 and I took him!!

The two-packs though are a different story....I've been seeing them at this comic book store for MONTHS now. Finally got the strength to ask the guy if he could go down on the price... He said "cash is king" so, hit up an ATM machine, and he gave me a discount on both sets!!

It was a day of upsets in March Madness, and sure enough, the win some/lose some wackiness of the tournament hit me at home today as well. It was a win-some as the final upgrade I needed for Menasor arrived today...

But a loss somewhat as the new hands were kinda tiny...and on top of that, couldn't properly hold Shockwave in his alt form. It still translated into a win though, as despite that, Menasor now has larger, more sturdier feet to help him stomp Autobot scum, and as a result, my favorite combiner of all time finally feels complete...

Which I kid you not, turned into a loss just moments after this pic was taken. The larger, sturdier, feet caused him to take his first dive ever off of the shelf due to the ankle rocker joint (never thought I'd complain about one of those) built into the upgrade being unable to support his bulky weight properly. (Either that, or Metroplex kicked him off the shelf from behind, in a move either to bully Menasor or to display his insecurities about another big bot sharing the shelf with him...) Menasor mostly survived the fall (a win!) but his sword upgrade piece did not, breaking during the tumble (a loss...) It might be sour grapes, but at least it's not that big of a loss, as I actually think the upgrade made the sword a little too big...(sorta win?)

I actually quite like the hands included in those sets. I feel they're a good size. The feet on the other hand are just way too big. I like the joints in the feet, but I just think they look really goofy. So, I've only ever displayed him with the hands. I will say that this style of hand works better with superion thanks to his better proportions.

It would've been cool if hasbro had included proper hands and feet in the first place.. They must be losing money hand over fist for them to be pinching as many pennies as they are.

Both. It also has the original opening song.

Unfortunately, episode 15 is still missing.

I was impressed though by the quality of the set. Most 3rd party upgrades tend to feel somewhat flimsy in hand, but Perfect Effect did a really good job with the quality. Despite what I thought were tiny hands, they were really well done. I would have stuck with them had they been able to properly hold Shockwave.

It bums me out that Hasbro seems content to rely on third party upgrades to fix their oversights rather than provide fixes themselves. I would gladly buy an upgrade kits from Hasbro if they made them available, despite the backlash I am sure they would receive.

Awesome two packs! That line created some of the best figures IMO. Still in search of the winter soldier.
