Ok just came back from toy hunting. took an Uber to the 2 locations which were target and walgreens, was gonna go to walmart but i found a Voltron lion (blue) at target so didnt go to walmart. was also hunting for mysterio but no luck.
i did see the serpent guy and the new ironman but didnt like them enough. i did notice that target is selling the scooge mcduck figure from funko. i already have it thou. i did also notice that line called Roblox, they look pretty kool, if i was a kid nowadays i would be playing with that line. Roblox could put Lego out of business.

Did Ultraman and Giant-Robo (Johnny Sokko and his flying robot) take his other arm and leg for claiming to be the original? Just joking around. I'm not even sure if they would be the originals either, just the ones I can think of immediately.

Yeah Ultraman was just Ultraman, the guy turned into the giant robot. Voltron might be the first giant robot that needed pilots inside of it to function, there could be something older that's been forgotten. Pacific Rim is sorta like all the previous giant robot vs. monster concepts thrown into a blender since you have multiple pilots per mech like Voltron but there are different types of mechs like in the assorted anime and so on for the monsters (there's no need to really delve in).

Did Shogun Warriors have pilots?

I went ahead and got my voltron out of layaway from TrU (before they shut down sometime or another heh), then found Ezra with his speeder for only $4 from Dirt Cheap, then I finally found a 6" Ahsoka Tano at retail for $20 a store called Fred's (of all places)!!

Gamestop haul. Since Snoke was 25% off he only he came up to around $22 before tax so given the size of the throne I went ahead and snagged one up. I still don't care for how Hasbro managed the soft goods on this figure but he can sit which is a plus given that he came with the throne at all. I feel like the robe's color is too bright, it should probably be a few shades darker, but that's honestly it for my gripes with this figure. I like how the throne came out, he looks good slouching in it, and whenever the Walmart Kylo Ren finally comes out I'll be able to assemble a proper little throne room.

Zenyatta is the next in my extremely selective line of Pop purchases. Being that he does not have a traditional face Funko wasn't able to really mess anything up for me. This one actually kinda looks like his cute spray from the game which is a bonus. Zenyatta is my main in Overwatch and given the overall absence of Overwatch merchandise it's nice to have something of him that I can like.

I don't think I'd call Pacific Rim a "remake" of Voltron. It owes some of its inspiration to many of the old mecha shows, though. The homage is intentional, and something Pacific Rim has no problem flaunting.
Pretty sure Super Sentai put pilots in a giant robot a year before Voltron first aired, too.
(The new Voltron cartoon on Netflix is amazing, btw! Very well-written.)

After launching five different toy hunts, I finally tracked this dude down.

Cool.
Except Voltron was a "foreign robot show" before they dubbed it into English, too. I don't watch Japanese shows either, but if we're going to talk, it's probably better to be accurate.
And, of course, none of that makes Pacific Rim a "remake". It's a loving homage to all of the mecha shows that came before it, and pretty much all of those are originally from Japan. Credit where it's due, no?

i know voltron is foreign, its an anime. But, let me rephrase myself:: voltron was the first foreign robot cartoon show that was dubbed that was released in the US to have pilots inside of a robot.

Nice! I was just talking to a friend of mine who said that Snoke is actually Mace Windu according to some fan theories... and after watching a YouTube video about it I gotta admit it makes a lot of sense. I doubt the official writers actually put that much thought into it but in my world I think snoke is windu
