I picked up the Robby last weekend and he's pretty dope for $20. The Iron Giant looked too stubby to me, to accommodate the walking gimmick I suppose.

That and the lack of balljointed shoulders on IG made me pass, but yeah for $20 this Robby is awesome! Definitely wouldn't pay the 50-100 bucks people are scalping it for on eBay though haha

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the lights used in Robby, they're about as strong as my keychain LED light but since there are a few of them he really lights up. I won't be surprised if they reuse most of his parts to make the Lost in Space robot, it'd just take a new head and hands.

On his back there's a "on/off" switch around his waist area. The switch is set to 'O' at default which is like demo-mode so all he'll do is light up and play sounds when pressed like he did while still in the box. When switched to the '1' he will continuously walk and turn his head once activated and won't stop until you press his chest button again.

I think it might have more to do with Walmart ordering a ton of these to get out in time for Christmas, but they arrived a bit close to the holiday after the vast majority of people were wrapping up their shopping or were already done for the season, and now that they are getting their basic shipments of figures and seperate rings...they gotta clear the old stuff out. I can say that where I'm at, most of the figure pegs are bare with the exception of a lone Triple H here or there...so at least, under the eye test locally, the single packed figures appear to be moving. Damn. For that price I'd definitely pick up the animated figures.

Not as hard as you might think it was. there was only one new case of the new wave put out but he was there and easily accessible. No I seen them before Christmas where there was quite a few put out so I’m guessing that the whole case is every figured it’s one per case.

Shit, they barely waited a month before they put the Marvel Legends 80th anniversary stuff on clearance. In general Walmart seems pretty wonky about handling toys.

Just wanted to leave this here. My club grayskull collection complete. A bit sad, I hoped for a few more. Maybe down the road more will come. Sorry for the awful editing.

Nice! First appearance of the Silver Centurion suit. I well remember that book as a kid. That book actually was responsible for me getting into "super hero" comics. Up until then I had just collected GI Joe and Transformers. I though the new suit for Iron Man was SOOOoooo cool. To this day it's still my favorite suit.
Thanks man. I think I may go pick that up. |
