I finally found a nightmare demon while at Target today. Compared to some of my other latest NECA ultimate figure acquisitions this release feels more like a proper bang for my buck with a slew of accessories and alternate heads to recreate all 4 versions seen in the movie. I was also pleasantly surprised that Target still only charged $30 for it since they've transitioned to the higher price for other ultimates already. At Gamestop they were still doing May the 4th sales so I nabbed Boss and Baze. I remain disappointed at how much of Boss is just Hunter but in hand I still find it to be an enjoyable figure at the end of the day, especially as I sincerely doubt they're going to do a proper dedicated sculpt for the RCs later. Baze is quite limited in what he can do between the blaster cable and poor hip range but he does look nice (particularly since he now has face printing) and the Chirrut I picked up years ago now finally has his friend. Gamestop also had Leader on clearance for $13 so I decided to finally grab him, he included no accessories the sci-fi gun in the picture came from another figure.

Just got the Rebirth Batman from McFarlane I ordered off of Amazon on my birthday. Pretty sweet looking figure.

I can’t remember exactly what thread I saw it on, but I recall a U.K. user commenting on how we don’t have anything like GameStop or Walmart that stock collectible figures and have sales on and stuff, sure we have Forbidden Planet and comic shops, but your always going to be laying top prices there.
Believe it or not B&M can be a great place to find some gems, a few years ago they were stocking some of the Batman animated figs, some other DC collectibles and wave 1 of the McFarlane DC figs, but then just seemed to stop, however today I was in one and they are stocking McFarlane DC multiverse figs for £12.99, some recent ones as well, Gotham Knights Nightwing was one I saw, they also have some cool He-Man retro figs as well, it really is worth having a look in your local one. |

I ordered 3 of these 1/12 scale Gashapon machine model kits from BBTS, and I was so excited about them, that my impatience got the best of me, and I ordered 3 more from Amazon (at a much higher price) so that I could have them immediately .
I can't wait until the other three sets arrive from BBTS, so I can add two more stacks of machines to these stacks !

Follow-up to my previous post:
Oh yeah, my new 20th Anniversary Series Hulk showed up yesterday, and he's a great figure, but after already owning Gray Hulk, the Hulk from the Wolvie 2-Pack, and the new-ish Immortal Hulk from Marvel Select, his arrival just wasn't as exciting as the arrival of my Gashapon machines. Also, I found another Kang at a nearby Ross tonight. My Council of Kangs is coming along quite nicely .

Found the Droids TVC Boba Fett at Target thanks to a Community member on a local FB group. This is repaint of another TVC Fett. Not accurate to the Cartoon or picture on the package. I would give it a 7 out of 10.

Got NECA's ultimate Evil Dead Ash. Getting the 1981 original Ash had been on my wants list for a good many years but it was never a high priority since we were still getting figures based on ED2 and AvED, but I still always wanted one. My only issue with this figure is that when I went to try swapping his head the entire dumbell joint just came out of the neck with it. It popped back in to the neck no problem but for whatever reason it wouldn't come out of the head piece, so I'm apparently stuck using the portrait packaged as default. I'm not losing sleep over it since this was the head I was going to display him with anyway, but it is worth mentioning. Moving on from that, he looks great, he handles well, and his accessories are fantastic. The axe included isn't actually the one from the movie, it's from the promo shots that they did to sell the movie, but everything else is screen-accurate. I really would have liked to see the book included but maybe they're saving it for a future release (hopefully a Deadite Cheryl). Also got the studio series '86 Perceptor. I really like the Titans Return figure but I also don't really care for the fact that he had to be a partsformer thanks to the headmaster gimmick, so I was very happy to add this new release to my collection. Obviously this new release was designed to be animation accurate and they nailed it but it does also mean that his scope loses the bonus fun-factor of slightly working. The G1 and Titans Return figure didn't have real microscopes but you could look through them and there was maybe a little magnification, with this version it's way too thin around to actually look through but you can still notice light passing through the ends. His transformation is simple but satisfying and of course they brought the "tank" mode back as an extra option. One sort of weird thing they did with this figure though is that the face seems to be a separate layer from the eyes behind it and they just cut out the eye-holes on the face part. So for mine one of the eye-holes wasn't cut out all of the way and his right eye is a little more closed than his left, it kind of works like he's being studious or something but somewhere out there someone might have a winking Perceptor. All in all though he's another lil' masterpiece.

Robin and Bib Fortuna from Gamestop.
Spider-Man from eBay. Baron Zemo from Zavvi. I picked these pens up at Michaels to do some detailing work on figures such as filling in web lines on older Spider-Man figures. They have a 0.20mm tip on them and work really well. You do have to spray them with a clear coat to keep the ink from wiping off though. |
