![]() I never liked Aquaman much, but I must admit that Injustice helped me respect the character much more than I ever did. I don't know what era this costume is from, though, but I'm sure it didn't do him any favors. If all goes according to plan this guy will eventually be turned into John Constantine. |

Which is why I think it might be cheaper/easier for Hasbro to go for the Datsun license first. No one said Hasbro has to follow the same order that Takara does. Hasbro has proven numerous times across multiple lines that they can skip some molds entirely or come back to others later as they see fit.
So just because Lambo came out before Prowl/Smokescreen/Streak in Japan, doesn't mean that Sideswipe must come out before Prowl/Smokescreen/Bluestreak in the US. I'm much more a fan of toy accuracy, as my first experience with Transformers was the toys. The show, at least for me, came a few months later. That timeline of events has also affected a lot of my opinions regarding G1 (FIBRIR!). Besides, my favorite of the Datsuns will always be Bluestreak. Kinda hard to mess up his deco (unless they decide to actually make him blue). i'm more of a fan of toon accuracy, i think it looks better, and it gives the characters more personality.. if hasbro were in charge of the datsun designs, each of them would be exactly the same mold, we wouldn't get the different heads or shoulder weapons. plus, i think it's hard to argue that hasbro's hot rod looks much better than takara's. not to mention it's the little things that takara does that puts them ahead of hasbro's. like with soundwave, takara's inner feet are silver like the rest of the foot.. whereas hasbro's are just plain grey plastic. and the red missiles in soundwaves shoulder cannon are nice and pointed on takara's, on hasbro's they're rounded off. to each their own though. i know that hasbro doesn't have to follow the same release dates that takara has.. but so far they've been equal other than grimlock and thundercracker which were flopped. |

Not much new this week. Picked up my layaway from TRU.
Got Orion Pax, Skyquake, and Kick Ass. ![]() I finally found the new box for Frute Brute cereal, now I have all the Monster Cereals in the new boxes and the Target Retro exclusive boxes. Yes, I now have 10 boxes of cereal to eat. But I really like the old and new art on these boxes. ![]() And this DVD caught me in the checkout line at Wal-Mart in the 5$ bin and I was so just speechless that I had to buy it. Yes that is Charlie Tuna, Twinkie the Kid, the Vlasic Pickle Stork, and Mrs. Butterworth in a 2012 CG animated movie. AND check out this voice cast: Charlie Sheen, Eva Longoria, Hilary Duff, Wayne Brady, Chris Kattan, Larry Miller, Harvey Fierstein and Christopher Lloyd!! I have seen some strange things show up on dvd, but THIS may take my new top spot on the WTF pile. ![]() |

And I didn't have to make up anything. Names, abilities and backgrounds were all listed on the toys' boxes. If you could read, it was all spelled out for you. So I didn't call Prime anything but Prime. And frankly, I find it somewhat condescending that you would assume otherwise. Quote:

And I'm not even going to get into the whole Takara/Hasbro debate here. Way outside the scope of this thread. Quote:

I found some Thor The Dark World figures last night at a Toys R Us that’s located south of my area that’s usually less than stellar in both appearance and offerings.
Lightning Bolt Hammer Thor ![]() Frost Dagger Loki ![]() Marvel’s Kurse ![]() I passed on the other Thor figure in this line with the blue robe. There were two of them on the peg but both had horrible paint apps and looked cross-eyed.

The Hot Wheels scalpers in my area are ravenous, so I never expected to find this classic BSG Viper. Honestly, it pales in comparison to Hasbro's BSG ships that were part of the Star Wars Titanium collection, but I'm just grateful for some new Battlestar merch.

A bit older figure, but imagine my surprise when I found two pegs stocked with First Editions tonight, which I haven't seen on TRU shelves for well over a year. Even better, they had the one figure I missed out on entirely the first time, and was never able to find.
![]() Also on the peg were two Starscreams, a Vehicon, 3 or 4 Bees, and even a non zombie Cliffjumper...shame that I picked him up on Ebay a few months back. No Arcees, or deluxe Primes or Megatrons, although, already having the voyager versions of these, I had no real need for those even if they were there. It's been a while since these have been on the shelf though, I wonder if there will be more in the near future as I'm sure Hasbro is trying to get rid of it's leftover Prime stock now that the series is officially over. ![]() While I love my RID Dark Energon Bumblebee, this quickly became my favorite version of him, even though I felt the the RID versions are way easier and more fun to transform, not to mention in better scale. But this guy looks like a scrapper! ![]() Now now...uh...Bumblebee, I'd like you to meet..uhm....Bum....ble....bug? |
