i recently started actively* collecting batman figures.. before.. i'd just get one here or there. but now i'm really interested in getting the more odd batman figures.. like the blackest night zombie batman, crimson mist vampire batman, the new planet x batman... so batzarro is going to be a GREAT addition.. (i do have more than those, but those are just more interesting to me at this point). i want to get the two face batman.. and there are quite a couple others that i've been looking out for. anyone have any suggestions of other odd, one-off type batman figures? |

This came in the mail today as I was setting up my morning dose of black blood after having pulled an all-nighter.

These were waiting for me when I got home from work today
![]() For those still on the fence about this ship due to the horror stories about how Amazon had been shipping the Slave 1 when it was first released, rest assured. Mine was packaged so securely and conscientiously, you'd think they were shipping expensive glassware. And most importantly, the ship is phenomenal! It should definitely not be passed up. Oh yeah, Biggs is cool too. I didn't want to pay $10 for him at Target, but I had no problem shelling out $3 on Amazon for Luke's buddy. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Frank Richards; 12-21-2013 at 05:33 PM.. |

I have been thinking the same thing. It looks like the bigger one since I see 3 seats in the cockpit.

I really don't want to have a lot of new star wars ships around my office but this one looks nice on display. My slave 1 arrived today in great shape. I am very happy with the amazon deal this time.

Pixel Dan makes a great point about the wings being something of a source of contention. If Hasbro had been a little more specific in the instructions concerning the proper way to lock them in place, the collectors' boards wouldn't have been filled with as many angry rants about "broken" wings, lol. Even with that questionable "problem", the wings on this one are SOOO much better than the loose, sagging, incompletely rotating wings of the '02 and '04 Slave 1s. I have the '04 ESB S1, and a friend has the '02 AotC S1, and they both have problematic wings that are FAR worse than the wings on this new one.
Wow, that makes me feel so old to think that I bought that older Slave 1 nearly a decade ago, lol! Last edited by Frank Richards; 12-21-2013 at 07:54 PM.. |

Yeah, I was hesitant for so long, but when I heard about the $35 price, I ordered immediately. So far, I really like it. It's a great size, very detailed, well-designed, and fairly sturdy. The only Star Wars vehicles I've purchased over the past few years have been Clone Wars vehicles, and this one feels like it is of a much higher quality than those others (this ship is based on the Clone Wars Slave 1), although it's not quite as "playable" as the (other) Clone Wars vehicles. LOL, I had to indulge myself and "fly" it around the room a few times, and because of it's size, unique shape, and lack of a handle (like the smaller 2002 AotC Slave 1 (and its awesome 2004 ESB repaint) had), it's better suited as a playset/display than a vehicle used for active play. For those reasons, it's definitely better suited for us adult collectors than for kids. Once the "shiny new toy" feeling wears off, I'm sure I'll still have an equally positive opinion about it.
Yeah, this is a redeco of the Clone Wars Slave 1 that came in that impressive ToysRUs exclusive set; the set that came with the ship, young Boba, an exclusive Bossk figure, Mace Windu, and Mace's Starfighter, and some others I can't remember. At the time that set was in stores, I didn't have the cash to pick it up, but honestly, given the choice I'd easily pick this ESB deco over the CW one any day. |

Plus..my girlfriend would probably have kittens if I picked up another Slave 1. I have The Trilogy Collection version (which was a re-deco of Jango's Slave 1 from Attack Of The Clones) as well as the Shadows Of The Empire/POTF version that came out when the line first re-released. Been trying to track down the much smaller, economy sized Slave 1 that was put out a while back, but believe it or not...I still have only seen it in the stores only two or three times, and have been unable to get a hold of it. Star Wars distribution in my area has been really poor, especially in the major retailers like TRU, over the last few years. |

Thanks for the heads up on that...I didn't even know this version of it existed, although now that I know that it is, I'll probably end up passing up on it. I picked up The Clone Wars one round this time last year, and I have to agree, it's an intensely satisfying toy that unfortunately is better suited as a diorama/display, and I simply have no room for another massive ship of that size. =(

If you really want that smaller Slave 1, check the discount stores like Ross and TJ Maxx. I've seen more at one of those stores in a single visit than I've seen at Target and TrU combined. Plus, they typically have them priced anywhere between $10 - $14, compared to the $20 or $25 TrU and Target are selling it for.
Amazon.com : Star Wars Jango Fett's Slave I Vehicle : Action Figure Vehicles : Toys & Games I'm soooo jealous of all the great toys deals there is at Amazon... french Amazon doesn't discount heir toys much...

Is it the same one? For 10$ it might be worth a shot.
