I thought that I had convinced myself that I didn't want or need these figures, but after a friend recently spent $15 on an Ult. Green Goblin head (and flame) on ebay, I figured I might as well pay $5 extra and grab Toxin from Target, so that I could enjoy the figure as well. Then, I figured that if I was going to buy him, I might as well go ahead and snag Beetle too, since I would inevitably regret passing on him once Boomerang has entirely replaced him on the pegs.
Lol, I had decided not so spend any more money on figures this month, unless it was on Black Widow or Wave 3 of the Star Wars Black 6" series, but I guess that didn't' quite work out

At first, I had kinda wished that Carnage was still available in my area, but, since I already have a Toy Biz Carnage, and because this Toxin figure looks kinda cool, I quickly got over my disappointment. I know absolutely nothing about this incarnation of Toxin (he's apparently Eddie Brock ?!?!), but I really like the figure.

Wow! That's an amazing find! I wish I had a 5 Below in my area, but from what I've gathered, the closest one is in Atlanta

I remember a year or so back, everyone was looking for a Legends (?) Windcharger I think it was, and 5 Below had quite a few in their bins. Wish they had some around Texas, cuz no telling what you might find there. They kinda seem to put Ross and all those type stores to shame imo heh

The current Toxin is Eddie Brock, who has since picked up his anti-hero campaign where he left off, and has resumed his attempts to destroy the symbiote that ruined his life. He recently caught up with the current Venom and whooped on him pretty soundly, although they were able to broker a truce of sorts.

They both are really good figures. I didn't think that I would like them both myself as much as I do...but I really do! Good find!

There are two that I know of in Austin so they may open around your area sometime in the near future. They get so many weird figures there that I would never imagine anyone getting. If I see one of these do you want me to grab one for you? let me know.

I'll probably get that Batman at some point I just haven't seen one yet. So far I've only seen a single Superman and Aquaman at the local Wal-Mart so I guess they're selling well.

The thing with Five Below is that they get awesome stuff in, but you have to be there at the exact right time to get lucky enough to find something like a Sif, IM Aromored Avenger, etc...I will go back there this week and see if they have any more and I will grab one for you (and a few for other folks on here) if they still have them...

That Ultimate Beatle is a great figure, much better then the Boomerang. I have seen 4 Boomerang in the last week (3 Toxin and 1 Spider girl) and the paint on Boomerang is horrible. The first one I saw I snagged and the rest have just looked worse and worse. Most of note on the Face/Visor and the white stripe on the chest. I really hope that they stop using the Pearlescent White paint on figures. It just does not seem to coat well and has application problems.

I totally agree with you. The Beetle surprised me a lot, I ended up liking the guy a lot more than I thought I would. It's an excellent sculpt, and he really comes to life thanks to the excellent articulation.

Being a big fan of the Eddie Brock character, I was really concerned about Toxin when I first saw the pics of him, but after getting him in hand...I really like him a lot. My only gripe is his feet, which I felt shouldn't have been molded to look like boots, but the whole figure, especially the red and black faded wash on the paint apps, has really grown on me.

I've ran into Boomerang a few times...my latest being tonight, and I cannot justify picking him up despite my being a completionist due to the horrible paint app issues that you mentioned. They always seem to have horrible smudges on his visor, or on his chest plate.

My GF and I celebrated our anniversary this past week...so I was surprised and delighted to get a couple of goodies from her...

Retaliation Jinx

and Kre-o Slipstream! (or "Slipstrike"...Whatever Hasbro...)

Also picked up some Kre-O G.I.Joes...along with the Beachhead/Storm Shadow set!

Finally found my "Bob: Agent of Hydra". Now if only I could find a red version ML Deadpool without making my wallet cry out in pain...

and finally...my first Monster Arts figure...Godzilla 2000!
