Got my second Dark Elf from Toys R Us today for £3.99

Very excited about the package I received today, because it has been one of the Holy Grails I never thought I would get to own: Hot Toys BSAA Jill Valentine from Resident Evil 5!




Unfortunately I don't have a dedicated 1/6 Resident Evil shelf yet, but I will soon enough. Since an official Chris Redfield is so far out of reach, I plan on assembling a custom version just like with Leon.

My Boss at work just signed up for Marvel Unlimited, today he gave me the Marvel Legends Ultron & Collector Box that you get for signing up! I gave him back the Age of Ultron #10 variant cover issue that came with it, since I already have the regular #10...

Absolutely. Jill is proving to be more expensive than originally intended, because all she's done is convince me to spend $$$ for Chris too. I already ordered the vest and most of the pouches for it. I'll be going for the version from the "Lost in Nightmares" RE5 DLC, since that's what he was wearing when he was paired with this version of Jill.

It's a shame that there's really no way to build any version of Claire. It'd be great to have my top 4 favorite Resident Evil characters, but I'll settle for Chris, Jill and Leon.

Looks like the hunt for GotG and TMNT movie toys is called off for the time being, 'cause my toy budget is blown at the moment.

Why isn't there exactly? Is it the outfit? Or the figure itself? I've seen several CyGirl figures in the past that given the proper attire, could make a very passable Claire Redfield. Just curious.

Finally ran into the Devito Penguin at TRU. Was even able to get it price matched!


and after seeing another Arker here running into Demolition Crush the other day, it prompted me to get off my butt and pick up these guys loose from Ringside Collectible's Ebay store, which finally arrived today. I was really shocked when I discovered that these "loose" figures were in nearly new condition! I highly recommend!

yes, these are from India...are they not worth $2? I haven't opened him yet, but he is so NEON I just think he is hillarious as is in the package. Not sure I want to open him, just because of the total package.

I had some on call work to do at around 3am last night, so on my way home I decided to stop by Walmart as they were putting out their center aisle display...


Just April and Lord Zedd....er...I mean Shredder....for now.


The April is an okay figure, I just really wanted an adult version of April to go with my Nickelodeon figs. Her eyes look like they are done with decals and are not painted, so you might wanna pick her up in person as opposed to buying online, as a fair amount of them were really badly cross eyed. The foot soldiers look TERRIBLE, like knock off toys from Mexico. They come some pretty awesome accessories that will work well with Marvel Legends, so I'll probably pick up a few of those in the future.

While I haven't opened her yet and won't for a little while at least, April is essentially not all that different from many of the 5poa figures we see in stores currently. From the looks of things, she has articulation in her neck, arms, and hips, with some additional articulation in her wrists (which is hidden by her yellow jacket.) She might have waist articulation as well, it looks that way studying the packaging. Unfortunately, she has no calf, thigh or ankle rotation, so her legs are pretty much stuck in that position in terms of poseability, and being that she has high heels, you probably won't be able to do much with her other than stand her straight up.

Here's the issue that I was mentioning on her eyes in my last post. It looks as if they opted to go with decals for her eyes for either cost or aesthetic reasons, but for whatever reason that they did, it results with April having a kinda goofy, wandering eyes. Thankfully, I was able to find one that was semi decent at a glance, but under the eye of a camera, the flaws come out glaring. Some of the April figures that I saw in the display were pretty poorly done, with her eyes bleeding into the bridge of her nose, while others had a wandering eye so lazy that would make a chameleon jealous.

Her and Disguised Raph looked to be the short cased ones, so while she might be tougher to find, it's definitely worth being able to inspect the figures in hand as opposed to purchasing online at a site like Amazon or Ebay.


On the Shredder, the whole Exo-Suit thing has grown on me a bit, and it makes a bit of sense I suppose. When they casted the actor to play Shredder, it kinda raised some eyebrows for me, but after thinking about it, I highly doubt we will see William Fichter taking on the turtles using martial arts prowess. I'm picturing him instead being a lumbering (or augmented) powerhouse much like the Super Shredder was in TMNT2: SOTO.

The figure is awesome, and while far from perfect, I do like the subtle and more sensible changes in articulation. The one complaint I do have is the helmet, it's pretty terrible and just screams Lord Zedd from MMPR. Haim Saban might just have a lawsuit there. I'm not a fan of the gaping skull holes on the eyes with the flesh tones, so I might end up going over those flesh tones with a dark red or black to more closely resemble the design sketches that have leaked out in various places on the net.
