After Target refused to pull it for me yesterday, my GF went back to my local target and managed to get someone to pull one of these out for me today. =)
![]() On a side note, she mentioned that when the Target employee grabbed the case, that there is also a white variant version of this same two pack that's also a Target exclusive, arrives in the same cases as the Shadow Trooper set (three sets per case, with one black and two white.) and uses the same DCPI code as the black set. She was unable to snag a picture unfortunately that was clear enough to be worth posting, but I haven't seen anyone mention this variant set on any of the forum threads, and thought it would be worth mentioning here. It's a good chance to troop build your basic white trooper collection at a reasonable price, provided you want more scout troopers and speeders. |

Joking aside, I originally never thought I'd get any Star Wars 6" figures but I also stopped getting 3.75" figures. I only have a Stormtrooper and Boba Fett, but I will say that they're pleasantly surprising. The SW 6" figures do seem to be trying to be more of an adult collectible line than their other 6" lines, but I really wish they wouldn't do any of the prequel movie characters until after they've done all original trilogy major/iconic characters. Seriously Darth Maul and Anakin Skywalker before Darth Vader, ya done messed up Hasbro.

They're not legends, they're called Black Series, gawl! Because Black Series sounds so much cooler and way more bad ass than Legends, ya know since it has black in its name and stuff.

My next biggest issue with the line, has been the distribution. Unless I preorder or buy online, it is literally impossible to find these in stores (this includes the 3.75 inch Black Series figures as well...) The exception to this rule being the the first 6" Black Series Boba Fett wave, which continues to loiter on store pegs (minus Boba Fett of course, who I still to this day have not seen in a retailer or drugstore.) These don't come very much to a case as is, and of course, the more popular ones like troopers and a certain bounty hunter tend to be short cased, making them very difficult to find in the wild, and very profitable for the scalpers who have friends in various brick and mortar store warehouses across the country. |

It is the opposite here. My stores are clogged with Han, Leia, and Greedo. That is why Vader and Jedi Luke have not shown up yet.

Really? None of the prequel figures sell at all in my area, and the only kid I've seen even look at the 6" toys wanted Bespin Luke over the RotS Obi Wan. It's no secret, the prequel films were not a great experience for the franchise. I'd rather they just make the figures most people actually want from the OT and then do the lame movies so everybody who doesn't care about those can leave and not be forced to wait for the figures they want because Darth Maul was considered more important to do in wave 1 rather than Vader. I'm not 100% opposed to the PT getting toys, but getting Hayden Christensen and Ewan Mcgregor before the real Darth Vader and Alec Guinness' Obi Wan is irritating.

Many of the other characters that were on screen for only seconds in the movies, but played much bigger roles in the Clone Wars series, such as Commander Cody (who we're getting) Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Ahsoka Tano and Asaj Ventress (the last two who were not in the movies, but were awesome characters nevertheless) were also great characters, and I would take them as well over another Han Solo in stormtrooper gear or Leia as Boush. Just because the prequels weren't held in high regard (myself included) it doesn't mean that it was entirely horrible either and that it's undeserving of it's own recognition. There were some great ideas and stories in between the lines, they just weren't presented properly. Had the movies been done with the TLC that the Clone Wars series was done with, I'm sure there would be no complaints about them. I also feel that there isn't really a need to have a "new" stormtrooper in every wave, and characters like the TIE Fighter Pilot or X Wing Luke are a waste of space in the lineup (unless they plan on making vehicles for these versions of the character the way they did with the excellent biker scout.) Obviously some PT should be released before every OT character, otherwise we'd get nameless background character #37 before Mace Windu. I feel like the PT characters who should receive figures first (reckonin' who's already been done) should be: Jango Fett, Tyrannus/Dooku, Mace Windu, Qui Gon Jinn (Liam Neesons is my jam!), and General Grievous. But at the same time we should definitely get a Lando before any of them.

i'm so glad you're not running a business. once again.. you don't seem to understand how releasing waves of toys works.. and how and when to release certain characters. |

Hey everyone,
I'm new at this forum - so if my post is wrong here I'm sorry. I found a special pack of Kinder Surprise in celebration of 40 years Kinder Surprise and did a unboxing of this on youtube: Be surprised if I found one of a to 40000 limited golden Marylin. ![]() regards SurpriseBox |

then hey.. stop over here and see ALL of the greedo's, leia's, and lukes that have been hanging around since they were released.
i'm so glad you're not running a business. once again.. you don't seem to understand how releasing waves of toys works.. and how and when to release certain characters. Also, it comes off as petty to criticize my business skills. My major isn't any kind of business management, so of course I shouldn't be running a business. I do, however, grasp the general concept of picking out characters they think will sell and (for almost any other toy line) assigning how many to pack in a case for retail stores to purchase. The Black Series is weak there because they stock by cases of four, when there are only four figures in a wave to begin with. This creates a system where, unless a figure is repacked like Han Solo being in the trooper's wave, they all have the same rarity. They don't have nearly equal demand though, hence everybody but Fett and the trooper is sticking around. If Hasbro is deliberately making figures they don't think will sell just to increase the desire for those upcoming figures that will, that is plainly dumb logic.

The humor levels on this thread are properly maintained, and we've taken safety measures to see that no jimmies are rustled. Your day shouldn't be negatively affected by the internet.

I got what I was looking for today. Very happy.
The Crow POP figure Hot Topic Exclusive. He Glows in the Dark. ![]() Had to put some stuff on layaway this week. Found a untouched case of series 4 GI Joe Kre-o at TRU, the TRU Exclusive Pac Rim UNDAMMAGED Knifehead (in box, not clamshell. All toys should be like this) and what is most likely the final Batman 66 figure Surfs Up Joker. ![]() ![]() ![]() Also picked up the SW Black 6 inch Vader. 4 Targets I went to had residue of this new asst.(Mostly the recolored Sandtrooper and Chewbacca) One store had 2 cases worth on the shelf untouched. The Vader and Chewbacca are very nice in person, but I wish Vader had alternate heads. He is kinda hard to get the helmet to fit exactly right. |

I think I prefer bloody Knifehead over clean, he just seems to stand out more on the shelf. The window box does look nicer than the clamshell.

Today's discount finds. The hand fell off of the enforcer predator (they have interchangeable hands) so my LCS marked it down.

My problem with bloody knifehead was they will most likely never do another damaged Kaiju. I would rather have them all clean. Now I was tempted to get the bloody version with the new series 5 damaged Gypsy Danger that goes with him cause that looks great. If I was only getting Knife and Gyps to go together and pose them mid battle , then that would be the way to go. But I don't know if I am going to get more of the Concept/Newsreel/Intro Jaegers or stick with the main 4 from the film. I may just go with the 2 in battle and forgo the rest. I am waiting for them to announce a better Stryker Eurika figure.
