On Friday I went out and when I checked my TRU they had the NECA Terminator Endoskeleton in stock so I picked up two of 'em since they had like nine or so. It's a fine looking figure and is very faithful and accurate to the film, but that's also its biggest problem. Its legs, and ankles in particular, are so thin/frail that it can hardly stand for more than a few hours even on a base. Both figures are free moving with no stuck joints and the one of them took a four foot fall with no breakage but it's the falling that is the problem. I know a cheap doll stand would do the trick to support the back and brace the torso under the arms but it's still frustrating to have to deal with the falling. Regardless of current troubles I overall like them both and will keep one with its gun like the beginning of T2 while the other will have the limp walk going on from the end of the first movie. I just wish that Stan Winston hadn't given the Terminator such little feet and thin legs with a full upper torso, that and the almost useless toe articulation that NECA gave it.
Then today I went to the flea market again and scored some nicely priced Spawn figures. I got the blue Angela to go with the Necroplasm Spawn I got last week, and they do look really nice and very '90s together, and then I got the original Spawn and Redeemer since I like Spawn so why not. Unfortunately due to the toy's age the Redeemer's right arm is no longer attached to the shoulder except for the wires that light it up, with the cape on though it holds in place but I'll probably tape it from the back later to better hold it on and the tape shouldn't even be visible because of the cape. |

These finally arrived from HTS this morning...Super excited for the new Thundercracker...it really feels like the new Jetfire mold was MADE for the seekers. Plus he arrived just in time for Hasbro's official announcement this morning that Leader Class Skywarp was indeed coming soon! Can't wait to throw all three of them up against my Seeker MP's!
Also found Target Exclusive Eddie Guerrero this morning amidst a sea of Rocky Maivia's! |

I like the look of the MS HB more than the BAF with the only dislike being the permanent open hand on the MS version.

Awesome score on the Spawn figures but man I hated that Redeemer when I first got him. On the back of the package it showed his arm with more joints than what he actually had and I snapped mine in half trying to play with it. Didn't help that he was my favorite "villain" in the comics. Loved my Spawns back in the day though. I had a whole backpack full of them that me and my friends would play with.

I remember seeing the first Spawn toys with the comic when I was little and thought it was just some new superhero toy and started getting them as they came out. Had no idea about the maturity of the comics until a few years later.

Such a weird decision to market them as "ultra-action figures" for kids and stuff when in the comics the Violator is going around ripping people's hearts out and stuff. Spawn himself is not at all a nice guy on the surface but the toys make him look like some kind of Spider-man/Batman.

Which is exactly why I picked him up in the first place. Strange marketing indeed. Still love the early Spawn comics nonetheless.

However, like En Sabah Nerd mentioned, most of the Mals I saw also had the weird wrist issues that he described. That's why I've passed on him so far in the hopes that I find one that looks more durable. If it turns out to be a running issue, maybe Funko will release an improved/revised version, like they purportedly had to do with some of the GoT Legacy figures.

While hanging out with some friends tonight, one of them needed to swing by Wal-Mart to pick up a last-minute Father's Day card.
While there, I spotted the stockers opening up a case with these guys in it

Unless it came out of the case like this, TRU really shouldn't have accepted that return if that is what it was. People really need to stop being so damn devious with these BAF pieces and trying to get something for free. All they are doing is hurting honest folks, and giving us collectors a bad name by making us look desperate and underhanded. That said...decided to hit the road with my six month old son for our first Father's Day together, and lone behold, not only was TRU dead, but there was a load of goodies to be found, including... A Commander Rex that wasn't slathered in tape or trampled by a Taun Taun... Ripley and Jonesy! And the last two (and thankfully the only two figures I wanted...) from the new Ant Man wave. Now I just need to find a head for Ant Man so I can swap it out on occasion for an unmasked version. I was thinking about repainting one of the numerous unmasked Cap heads that I have, but I don't think it's the look I want. Any ideas? Happy Father's Day! I have always been eager to find this one, Space Sheriff Gavan!! I'll try to post a quick review on Marvel 3.5inch thread later about this one... since the anime is over in Japan, the figs have been discounted here and there... only could get my hands on Hulk though...

Hey everyone, been a long time since I last posted. Stuff happens. First collectible I've bought in a while:
If anybody has some Disney Infinity Marvel team-up discs they'd be willing to part with for cheap, please let me know with a PM. I have White Tiger and Iron Patriot, looking for maybe Winter Soldier and Ant-Man. May be looking to get some playsets and figures from the original DI too, so if you're looking to clear some out, shoot me as PM about that as well. 'Til next time. |

Today's TRU haul. Unfortunately they did not have the whole crew from Firefly. I snagged Zoe and the better (kinda) of the two Mals along with a Rocketeer figure.
For those who have been asking about QC on the Firefly figures; it is REALLY hit and miss. The exclusive Jayne I got online is pretty much perfect. Zoe is pretty good aside from a very minor issue with an eye. Mal...yeah...WTH Funko? One of the two had the broken left hand syndrome others have mentioned. It was so far out of whack that I could see the peg. Pretty sure it would not have been attached to the figure. His right hand had some kind of paint mishap that looked like he was either burned or had some kind of plague. I settled for the other one which did not have hand/wrist issues, has a strange paint job on the eyes but is pretty much otherwise fine. If I could have put the head from the first on the body of the second it would have been a decent figure. So my recommendation. If you want Mal, find him in person. Do not buy him online as the QC is REALLY hit and miss. |

The build a figure piece from Hulk there is missing. I hope you weren't trying to build Thanos, because that sucks if you were. Hopefully they explained to you why the figure was discounted.
