Your absolutely right, I actually got these at Wal-Mart and was able to get them to Price Match. I'm not sure if it met the proper criteria, but they gave me them at $12.23 with little hesitation.

I passed my VI registry and on the way home decided to stop by Toys r Us and found the recent release of MP Starscream. I even had ten dollars in rewards bucks which brought the price down to 49.99 before tax.

Unfortunately for me, the only place around here that has the Hulkbuster wave is Walgreens, and they dont price match.
Not a single Target or Walmart has this wave or the Rhino wave. I thought what the hell, I'll just order online then ... only ones eligible for that are ones I dont need! All the other are in store only. Creeps! |

Got an extra Finn to open today and man this figure is dope. Can't believe a lot of people are sleeping on this guy because his articulation is great. Just wish he had double jointed elbows and he would be a 10. My new favorite 6 inch figure this year.

OK, guys and gals the moment I'VE all been waiting for....The call from my local "NEW" TRU Express that they opened a box that said Nintendo and this was inside!!! ![]() The taxing at the express is alright when you can't find it anywhere. Plus every TRU express is a spitting image of KB Toys, lol. |

Never thought I would find this. Thanks to in store pickup option. Wtf is up with tru and their "limit 5 per customer" on this? It's usually limit 1 or 2 at the max. Scalpers must be having a field day with these. Hopefully there's enough being made to keep them on the shelf after everything dies down.

I'm curious as to whether there are any differences, aside from the color, between the new release and the original.

On the newer mold, the fins are incorporated into the legs, making for a easier and slightly more streamlined transformation and silhouette. Also, when transformed CORRECTLY, the newer MP11 mold is much more sturdy than it's older MP03 counterpart. (And I cannot stress this enough...many YouTube reviewers STILL cannot transform this figure completely and correctly, despite having several years to figure it out...and it drives me insane.) There are also a few different molded pieces, such as the panels where the feet fold out, the head (the older figure has a smaller head with interchangeable faces...where the newer head is larger and does not...) and the null rays are on swivel ball joints, where as the older figure's just plugs directly into the arms and is a swivel only. Here are a few pics showcasing the major differences, as illustrated on the two figures that use the same mold of each version, the Walmart Exclusive Skywarp (which the older MP03 Starscream used) and the SDCC Acid Storm (which uses mold of the newer MP11 SS.) "skirt" peg on MP03 mold (I modified the transformation on Skywarp to better reflect the newer mold, but you can see where the "skirt" used to plug into the hips...) ![]() No "skirt" peg on newer MP11 mold ![]() "collar" fins on MP03 mold ![]() No "collar" fins on MP11 mold You can also see the swivel pegs on the null rays here. ![]() Feet on MP03 mold ![]() Feet on MP11 mold ![]() All things said, while I haven't picked up the new SS (I have the iGear PP03T Traitor as my Starscream, which is far superior to the Hasbro or Takara versions IMO) the newer TRU figure based on mold alone is the superior version, and is a bit more sturdy and streamlined than the older Walmart exclusive. If you have picked up any of the other seekers put out from TRU and Hasbro these past few years (Thundercracker, Acid Storm, and Sunstorm) you should know what to expect. PS. Sorry about the dust on Acid Storm. Been a while since I've pulled him off the shelf! Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 09-29-2015 at 10:41 PM.. |

If you are referring to the Walmart MP03 Starscream, the major difference lies in that this version is based off of the MP11 version of the mold, which has a slightly different transformation due to some different molded parts on the figure. The tail fins and side part of the fuselage on the older "Walmart" version are secured to the figure by ball joints on the waist, which fold upwards or hang off the side of a figure, giving the appearance of a "skirt".
On the newer mold, the fins are incorporated into the legs, making for a easier and slightly more streamlined transformation and silhouette. Also, when transformed CORRECTLY, the newer MP11 mold is much more sturdy than it's older MP03 counterpart. I'm so far behind on my Masterpiece collection, and I was hoping that this one would be an easy pass, since I have the '07 version, but he looks so good in the pics I've seen so far !

Picked up the ML Target exclusive 3 pack earlier today. There's 4 per case and my two targets have one case each. Apparently the set is scheduled for release either Sunday or Monday to go right before the release of the movie. They're not on display for that reason but with the DCPI you can't go wrong. Regular price will be 50 bucks but it will be on sale for around 42 bucks for either Sunday or Monday. I'm one not to ask for discounts...if it's not marked on sale I don't bother getting into an argument, to me it's not worth it...but, if you lie to me then I'm not gonna take it. The employee gave me the usual story that they can't sell it yet because bla bla...so, I didn't argue with him, I just called the manager and I got it for $28.50 plus tax as it was price matched from their web site.

The only thing bad that I have heard that seems consistent in the reviews of the newer TRU SS, is that the figure itself is starting to show signs of degradation do the the constant use of this mold, as well as the cheaper plastics that Hasbro has been incorporating over the years. Still, even with that, I'd take the newer one over the older Walmart one any day of the week simply because MP03 mold is balls. If I had the cash to drop on the recent Takara Skywarp (which was WAY overpriced), or could even find the igear PP03D (Destroyer) in decent used condition, my old Walmart MP03 mold Skywarp here would be taking a headfirst dive into the trash bin, because he sucks! One of the most frustrating MP figures I've ever owned I tell you...

Yep...that set is slick. Really digging that Vision and Ultron. The Hulk...not so much. But still, hopefully I'll be able to run into this. The last Target set was nearly impossible to find out here in Tucson, and I ended up having to buying Ms. Marvel/Warbird off of a scalper individually.

Thanks. I just checked it out on Brickseek, and it says that there might be some available at two stores nearby. I know a lot of local collectors here who sell at swap meets also work at Target, so the hunt will be on tomorrow... |

I equate him to (1 step up) farm boy luke...if we were offered farm boy Luke BEFORE we knew he was gonna be one bad mofo. Just looks kinda, boring... might be in demand after the movie hits....i guess we'll see.
