okay so.. recently i've caught a yearning to put together a decent sized lego set.. so.. here's the question, should i get the age of ultra quinjet, jek-14's jedi fighter, or the 2015 star destroyer.. ?

				 | Quote: Oh I hate that. I've gotten a few used books off of Amazon recently and one had a sticker on the cover. Luckily it peeled off with little trouble. Books-A-Million puts them on the back of every graphic novel and sometimes if there's a sale a gigantic sale sticker on the front. Big time pain in the ass. Quote:

Those Harley and Scarecrow figures look good guys. What's the general consensus on the Batman figure? As far as the chemical smell I think it's a preservative of some kind. I remember some of the Tron Legacy items I bought years ago had that smell so I used a microfiber rag with some rubbing alcohol and that helped to negate any sort of odor quickly.

Picked this up from my local Smyths today for ÂŁ9.99. The other Hulk figure from the Sub-Ultron and Hulkbuster packs is puny in comparison to this one! Having said that, I would say this one is a bit over-sized scale wise. He's pretty much just as tall as the Hulkbuster, if not just a tad taller.

Every time I've gotten this smell (from the Arkham Knight Scarecrow and the GoT The Hound) it's been on only the one figure from the series which has led me to think that it might be the paint. I am not at all a master of paint information for toys but if it were a chemical preservative then I'd figure the other figures would share the odor, maybe it's a combination of certain paints and the preservative. This could be nothing, but both figures that have had this similar odor for me use a dark-ish brown color.

				 | Quote: Color doesn't really matter as I've run into it on items like the Tron Legacy ID discs; those were colored white for Kevin Flynn, orange for Rinzler, blue for Sam Flynn. I remember smelling it on various McFarlane figures from the '90's as well and they featured colors all over the spectrum.

As for scarecrows smell I think it is some type of weaponized halucinagen. |

But then why didn't the figure immediately break in my hands because that's what I was afraid of?!

Finally got around to buying a representation of one of my favorite video game characters of all time. Nearly bought the new PAK Advent Children version of her, but I just really don't like how obvious the joints look. Ended up getting this version for half the price of the new one. It's a weird scale, so it doesn't fit in with any of my other collections. She's closest to my Bishoujo statues as far as size and aesthetic, so I placed her beside them for now. Maybe I'll make some kind of diorama base next time I get bored, so she'll fit in even better. |
