Hey guys,

I'm about to set out on a toy hunt, stopping at all of my local stores. I was wondering, in your experience, what has been the best day and time to check stores? When do they tend to stock the shelves in the action figure aisle?

Personally, I would like to know about Wal-Mart, Target, and Toys R Us. However, if there are additional stores you would like to mention to help out other Arkers, please do.

I would say that the earlier you can get somewhere the better. Although not usually the case, most stores will restock overnight so the new product is on shelves when the doors open.

I think more important than what time is what DAY. Talk to someone knowledgeable and try to find out what days new shipments arrive. They are usually the same day every week. My TRU gets the best shipments on Thursdays. Every Thursday I go after work and the shelves are usually pretty stocked.

Wal Mart = 2am

Target = 8am on stock days

TRU= 830pm day of stock or 10am day after

Other stores: I don't bother

With stores like Target and Walmart, ask an employee which days they stock the toy section and whether they do it doing the day or overnight. If overnight, go when they open the morning after. If during the day, go in the evening. For me, it's always been just whenever time I have free and I either get lucky or I don't. Either way, eventually, I find what I'm looking for.
