I thought there was quite a lot of nice stuff pictured that I will never own. And not because I don't want it, but lack of funding and self-limitation on my collecting habits.

Besides, I've been out of Robotech/Macross for so long, only VF-1S releases truly pique my interest these days.

There are a lot of fans tired of the VF-1 but I never get tired of it. It's a classic design. I should add, I'm one of those guys that never tires of seeing RX-78-2 toys.

As for stuff that I will never own..I want the 25F Tornado but I I'm not sure if I will pick it up. I keep thinking a heavy retooling or redesign is in place for the DX 25 inevitably. Also the Tornado Messiah is the most expensive 25F out right now, aside from the Fold Clear(then again the latter is most expensive since you have to get it from someone buying it for you in Japan, then pay mark up, et al).

Damn, that happened to me once but they didn't even ring the door bell when they came through! Hell I'm not even sure if they actually stopped by.

So, like I posted over at MW, my Tornado Messiah's right leg armor has the SMS logo tampoed upside down. Anyone else get the same thing?

The logo on my Super armor has scratched off.

tks for the posting! I am thinking of buying this as my first dx chogokin! Do you know if this model is the new mold ala lucifer brern where the knees in gerwalk can be bent to get a most naturalistic pose? I hear the knees are the major complaints of this toy.

The 25F they used for the Tornado is the same exact one as the previous one except with different color plastic in some areas and slightly different paint apps.

So no, the gerwalk has not been improved at all unfortunately.

You're welcome man. No the knees on this one aren't like the ones found on Brera(more range of motion + thigh swivel) unfortunately.

There are much more complaints than the knees on the DX VF-25. The shoulder joints are prone to looseness. The wrist ball joints can get loose under the weight of the gun(whichever hand is holding it). The tampo printed markings are scratched off so easily to the point that what was printed SMS on the legs of mine now look like Zentraedi.

I do like the gloss finish a great deal I just wish a sealant was added over the printed details. The toy itself is decent but won't manage above a 6.5-7 in my book. I don't mind the look in each mode I didn't even care that it wasn't anime accurate; it's the handling qualities that left me underwhelmed.

Fold Clear looks awesome but is pricey to obtain since I am stateside. Moldwise I prefer the VF-11.

Hard to say what would be better, Tornado or Fold clear...one looks great, one looks great too due to new armor.

Arghhh I'm really in a bind about these bandais! I really want to buy them but I want the ultimate perfect version(doubt these exist). I guess I should stick to the yamatos. But I do want the tornado!! Maybe I should buy the brera? Do u know if a new brera with special armor will come out? Or will the new mold be applied to all the vx25's? Also in the new brera mold are the loose shoulder and wrist and bad paint/scratch things addressed? Sorry abt the many questions. New to the bandai line.

Unless Brera had special armor in the movie, which I don't think he did, the 27 that's out should be the only one Bandai produces.

Brera's 27 has loose wrists which is compounded by the large heavy rifle he wields. Some 27s have had pain scratches but that's luck of the draw. The shoulders have been improved as well as the knees to give a much better gerwalk mode than the 25.

The "101" logo on the right vertical tailfin is crooked though.

IF Bandai decides to go through with their 1/48 model line(which most fans think is PG style like how the 1/72 were similar to MG Gundams), that line may provide us with the "ultimate" Macross Frontier replicas. I have a feeling Bandai will release 1/48 models eventually but they have been very quiet on it.

As far as the new improvements made on the DX VF-27 being used on the DX VF-25's, there is speculation amongst the Japanese forums about a DX VF-25 2.0 being hinted at in the latest magazines. I wouldn't be surprised considering that I look at the DX VF-27 as a testbed for improvements to be used inevitably on future DX VF-25 toys.
