Did the 90's X-Men cartoon follow the comics? If so what was the issue span?

The cartoon had it's own comic so if those are the comics you mean then yeah, they did. As for issue run....dang I can't recall that offhand as I didn't collect those.

If you mean the actual comics...

They adapted stories from the comics. Which is why the 90's series is so well loved by the old school comic fans. Yes, they watered down the stories and changed some things, but it was still a great cartoon.

I think the cartoon was based off of the series, as they took some ideas and stories, but for the most part it was original.

But like Morgana said, there was a comic based off of the toon universe.

The cartoon basically picked and chose things from the comics, IIRC it was not based on any particular lineup from the comic though a mix of the classic team and a "dream team" approach with the best / most popular characters might be the best way to sum it up.

Like any good cartoon, the writers took just enough from the source material and added enough of their own stuff to keep it fresh. Yeah, some things were changed, but overall, it was a good series. Beyond Good and Evil remains one of my favourite plotlines from that series.

adapted from comics but also created own lines and such. the cartoon also created the character Morph and had way different backgrounds for some characters such as Bishop, Colossus, or Cable. overall though it was a great adaption. I think the comic series X-Men adventures just took stories from the show and put them in book form....or at least at the beginning.

more importantly, WHERE IS THE DVD SET?!
