THIS is the one I've been waiting for most! Steel was my favorite of the Supermen and finally getting a well articulated version with accessories is a dream come true. I would love for them to do a reissue in his later black and grey/silver color palette as well.
Now the problem is deciding to get the black suit Supes and Cyborg to actually fill out figures from the storyline, or save my wallet some pain and only get the ones I really want from this wave... |

Nice!! This Steel finally has a cloth cape!! This makes me more excited because now they gotta do Eradicator and Superboy for sure. Superboy is instant preorder for me!

I don’t think they’ll ever do the cloth leather jacket for Superboy. I think they’ll do something with removable arms like they did with the Dark Knight Joker. I can see Mezco make the cloth leather jacket for Superboy tho.

Why wouldn’t they do cloth for Superboy? They’ve done cloth for lots of Marvel characters already.

That's pretty nice looking. Not enough to make me feel the need to upgrade my DCUC Steel, but definitely nice.

I haven't been this impressed with a Steel figure since Kenner in the 90's. Looks great.

Looks awesome. One of the coolest, best and most underused versions of Superman

This turned out even better than I expected. Really well done plastic rendition of my favorite of the "Supermen".

Finally caved on jumped on the MAFEX line with both this & Thor. Got both for $72 each on their overseas website. Now I regret not getting both classic Ironman and JL Supes when I had the chance. Neither is available anywhere I look. This Steel fig is a thing of beauty as is Thor. Love the 3 different head sculpts! I might remove the cape as I think he looks better without it.

It’s very nice. Paint job looks just like the Kenner’s Steel. Still, it looks kinda like Iceman is donning the cape. Why couldn’t they just paint chrome on the entire body like they did with black suit Superman? Would’ve looked more metallic.

AmiAmi has both, if you mean the Snyder Cut Superman.

I'm really hoping that Mafex is announcing another comic based character this month. Love to see a Doomsday by them.

Looks ace. Another cool Mafex fig. That a wired cape? Also has he always been able to emote like that? What's his helmet made of and why? Been donkeys years since I read a comic that he was in since Reign of the Supermen and I can't remember him doing that. I dunno.

As for the face, it is a bit weird, it’s clearly an iron mask he’s wearing as we see it being forged and held as an object on multiple occasions, and for most of the time it is not moving, but there are select panels from his very first appearance onward where he’s showing emotions through it. I guess they thought he would’ve looked too boring if his face wouldn’t move so they decided to screw logic for style. In the world of comics, that’s not a bad decision to make. |

Aye, I guess it's been so long since I read those comics I'd forgotten that he could emote with it on. And now I'm reminded, it bugs the hell out of me lol. These days I know the character best from Superman and Lois tv show where he doesn't have a face on his helmet at all so they avoid trying to explain whatever fancy metal that may be. I excuse it on Batman Beyond cos 'future techy stuff' lol
Thanks for the pics though, mate. I was going to try google a lil later on when I had a bit more time but you saved me the trouble. I appreciate it. Cheers. |
