Some photos and a little video I threw together on using magnets with action figures for stands or displays:
Magnetic display stands for action figures - Album on Imgur https://youtu.be/cDiYH1n5SK8 After getting a new bookcase to display my figures, I have been searching high and low for a good way to set things up. Without having to worry about figures taking self dives, or breaking, or just knocking each other over. There aren't many options for display stands unfortunately and it's been frustrating trying to come up with a solution for things. Until I remembered some posts here on the forums from Ultraman Zoffy, who in past talked about using magnets to display his figures with metal bases. Following what he had shared, I set out to use magnets with my figures as well. And after a few days of having the magnets and using them I feel like they are a great solution to the problem for me. I bought 100 3mmx3mm Magnets from a Chinese seller on eBay. They are cheap at about $6 for 100. I also bought some metal washers from a Lowe's home improvement store to use as my stands. These were about $6-$7 for 20. I mainly collect Marvel Legends and the 3x3mm magnets fit snug into the peg holes of some figures. The ones that fit perfect need nothing else once the magnets are inserted, They stay in on their own and are tight. Some other figures have required glue to get the magnets to stay in the peg holes as the holes may be deeper or wider then the magnets. I've mainly used hot glue to keep the magnets in the figure's feet so far. Just in case I want to remove things easier down the road or change anything up. Super glue would most likely be a stronger and more long term way to do things. After the couple of days that I have had using these, I would say that I recommend trying something like this to anyone else who is looking for solutions to action figure displays. And I just wanted to share this info in case anyone else was in the same boat. EDIT - Typo in the Thread title, but I can't seem to change it.
