So I've been collecting all comic-version Marvel 3 3/4'' figures religiously, and from all lines. I have absolutely everything except specifically:
Mandarin Whiplash Ultimate Iron Man Lizard Scorpion "Stretch Strike" Venom Has anyone seen these on the shelf? Does anyone know if we can even expect to in the future, or has Hasbro stopped production on those lines short because of all the shelf-warming figures? (Don't get me started on how many stupid Spider-Man figures in the Spider-Man line are warming shelves). I don't want to spend $20-$50 for each of these online somewhere. Does anyone has any more info on these?? |

I think the final wave of the Iron Man 2 comic figures may be a lost cause at retail, stretch Venom is definitely out now so keep an eye out.
With Lizard and Scorpion, apparently some people have found them in Asia, but in other markets I don't think they're out - last time I checked there was only 1 on eBay which suggests it's not had a mass release yet.

For Mandarin, Whiplash, & Ultimate IM, best to get that entire "lost wave" case at BBTS.
A lot of folks (some on these boards) reported getting all those Spidey figs when they went up on HTS. I'm sure it's possible to find them in the wild if you can find a store that's actually had a fresh Spidey case since christmas. |

Mandarin, Whiplash, Ult IM, War Machine w/ Rhodey head were all up on bbts for 50 for the set of 4. I believe that is out of stock, but I now own 2 of each of that set. One set will go to my friend when he's back in state though, sorry traders.
But they are definitely worth getting.. some of the best IM2 figures in the series were in that final wave. |

Does anyone has any more info on these?? I can tell you this though: The Good: 1) Mandarin: Find it somehow, the figure is great. 2) Whiplash: Pretty much the same. 3) Ultimate IM: Pretty cool, a little small in height but has two heads, highly recommended The Bad: 4) Scorpion: Limited articulation which, due to it's sculpt, makes it look a little odd when posed. Not the worst from the line but not all that great either. 5) Lizard: AVOID. This figure sucks royally. Way too cartoonish. If you want a better representation go find the Killer Croc fig from the DCIH line. The Unknown: 6) Stretch Strike Venom? |

The ult IM and war machine duo heads are FANTASTIC.
The bad? The ult iron man extra head did not fit. The peg was much larger than the hole. I shaved it out a bit and it worked fine though. (I also had to do this with archangel's wings.. anyone else?) But overall, again, I can't stress it enough, all FOUR are amazing in that set. Some of my favorites to date. |

I got my lizard and scorpion from hasbrotoyshop.com. You should often check that website weekly. Toysrus website will have stuff too.
I'm still looking for a stretch strike venom. The last wave of iron man 2, either bbts.com or ebay. Im going to try to look for mandarin at comic con this year. |

I've seen the spider man figures in the Disney store so don't be afraid to check those places out especially if you need to get some figures you would never picture to be there

Yeah I totally forgot to add modern War Machine to the original list, BUT I did purchase Modern War Machine, Whiplash, and Ultimate Iron Man just now from BBTS for around $43, including shipping. Mandarin was totally sold out in any form, and geez I want him. Unfortunately, I can't find him anywhere for less than $40, and I just can't quite pull that trigger yet. The Disney Store is a good idea for Spider-Man figs, but we don't have one around here...

Does Stretch Strike Venom actually exist? I'm pretty sure that figure is just an old wives tale.

It's really too bad that Spiderman's rouges gallery isn't a part of the Marvel Universe line instead of being in that Spiderman line. Electro gets loads of articulation because he was Marvel Universe, but poor Rhino gets short changed on articulation because he was in the Spiderman line.
Then again it's just a darn thing that Spiderman has so many cool villains but Hasbro is super slow to put them or avoids the classic look like on Doc Ock. |

No sword or helmet (dont care) for $20- that's including shipping! Once you get the fig, take a toothpick and add a drop of color to each ring- makes the figure a 10/10. |

I know for a fact a chain in the pacific northwest Fred-Meyer (part of kroger now) Has some of the missing IM2 wave. They came out in alaska at their stores in november/december time frame. Some have spurted out in oregon as well. I swear my Freddies has 3 cases stashed in the back. I think these will be just like XMOW and the Cancelled gi joe ROC waves....we will find them at ROSS, BigLots, TJ MAXX, Tuesday Morning, and Marshalls. Reminds me...I have a tuesday mornings here... Haven't been in it for years. (can't beat the resellers/scalpers....stupid job.) I did get a war machine and a comic whiplash....damn they are awesome. Whiplash is just as awesome as titanium man easy. Other than the Goblins.... Villians are hard to come by in all of these Hasbro Lines. (don't count thor...they all just suck, Sif and warriors 3 will be the HTF from that line.) |

It's always amazing to me how different parts of the country get different figures- here, Marshalls and Ross still have the occasional XMO figure (all Logans though) and a bunch of movie GI JOes (perfect replacment heads for the SHIELD soldier) but no Marvel Universe or IM2 anything.
If they ever do get IM2 stuff- like Guardsmen or Titianium man, I'll be buying a bunch. |

I'm betting the Iron Man 2 stuff pops up eventually at TJX corp stores or Ross stores like the cancelled GF.I. Joe tArget exclusives.

Makes me believe that for all intense and purposes, that the Spider-Man 3.75 and Iron Man2/ Armored Avenger 3.75 lines are finished.

OK- except for stretch-strike Venom, I have completed my collection!!
For those that are interested, at bigbadtoystore.com I was able to order Ultimate Iron Man, Whiplash, and War Machine for $11.99 each. I also got a Spider-Man 4-pack which included Lizard and Scorpion for about $44. I'll just sell the two retarded Spider-Man figures that come with it. At entertainmentearth.com I ordered a full Iron Man 2 wave 4 9-figure pack for $101.99, including Mandarin and an extra Ultimate Iron Man, Whiplash, and War Machine. I might just sell off all doubles that I have from that set and still come out ok money-wise, so good deal! Now if I just find that Venom in the stores somewhere, I'll be set. |

It's a shame those last four Ironman 2 comic figs never made it out as I wanted them all. *sigh*
I'd even had the set of four on preorder at BBTS a few times but kept canceling it as I couldn't see paying such a high price for figures that size. |

It sucks, but at the same time they can release the most wanted figures again later.
Like comic boxsets during ironman 3, or avengers. So some of the obscures may end up in your collection later anyway. Tigerstripe wolverine comes to mind as one you could skip and would always get, ditto to classic cyclops. I'm sure there have been many others and will be many more (the thing, mr. fantastic, the huamn torch, warpath, deadpool, Hawkeye, thor...). A hands of the mandarin set during Avengers would rock too. Mandarin, Ironman modular, scarlet witch, war machine, 90s US Agent, Energy form wonderman. (Based on fan demand, recognition, character representation, and rarity of figures +ease of mold retools.) Stuff like that would be an eventual no-brainer. Or even West coast, with Mocking bird, Hawkeye, and whoever else. If a shield movie happens, probably even a pack of commander rogers, osborn, and nick fury. Ironman Modular and the space armors are a must but I'd be happier to see more of the villians- everyone from Armor Wars:
Beetle The Raiders (one fig with all three attachments is all you'd need- just buy three!) Force Controller And of course- FIREPOWER! The Ghost in his classic outfit and Spymaster wold noth be awesome- as would a Scientist Supreme AIM figure. And the satellite killer monster...ohhhh man, that would sell just for the sheer coolness of how it looked! |

I picked up Mandarin at the grocery months ago and passed on the rest of the wave, thinking they would be cheaper somewhere else. I have yet to see a second set of that wave "in the wild."
Haven't seen any of the new Spider-Man figures at all. |
