they should just have a rule about how many you can buy, and then places who're gonna resale can buy more but not til the last day. that's how I see it.

Yup, start a strict one per person policy and maybe limit even the total items they can buy then it won't be worth the time in line for resale. But that's too much of a headache and they actually like shop owners reselling these things cause it makes them happy and helps maintain a good relationship.

The whole point of an exclusive at an event like that is supposed to encourage and support the line by rewarding dedicated fans who go out of their way to participate. Not to help venders to cash in. It's scalping. ![]() |

As far as fuck comic con, well yeah, kinda. I have never been to SDCC but I've been to a couple every year through the 90's in Los Angeles, it was never crazy like it is now, I've met Todd Mcfarlane, got savage dragon number one signed by Erik Larsen And all in lines that were no longer than 20 minutes. It seems like in about the last ten years all of a sudden it's "cool to be nerdy" and Cons are just rediculous, it's a double edge sword, the mainstream-edness of it now has produced the Avengers, the pinical of what comic book movies could be, and we the true fans envisioned it would be. But now shits crazy expensive, scalpers continually try to rape the shit outa us, and the con's? Well they're just plain nuts, and more of a pain than anything to try and go to.

heh, i work for a trade show supply company. this time of year SUCKS due to the con, thankfully i no longer have to attend it and i only work it as a PM on a company by company basis so i never have to get my hands physically dirty on the show floor. the last 3 years have been absolutely atrocious for long lines and just over all mass amounts of people...its just plain not fun anymore to bother being in attendance even though the things their are.
i would always come out of this time of the month hating every single person on the planet with how much of the worse comiccon brought out in me. it was like going to a packed walmart X100000 ANYWAYS! as far as exclusives go, im not a fan, but im lucky enough to have connections to get the things i want without paying someone else. if i still had to put myself physically there to get things or pay out my ass my tune would be so much more sour. i probably just wouldn't bother anymore in all honestly all the marshalls around me that i have spotted them in have silver/reg retail colors. only tjmaxx seems to have the variant. it may not be the case in your area though...defiantly worth a look Last edited by name; 07-12-2012 at 11:19 PM.. |

Congrats Lord Marvel. Doboy is a good man. Those look great.
The helicarrier is starting to grow on me. I took my close up pics today and uploaded them. I'll try to post some more pics tomorrow morning while I wait in line. At least the con has free wifi. Quote:
Agreed, I want to call it Scalper-Con. Quote:

I've always wanted to go to SDCC but I think if I go to an out of state con i'll pick Emerald City or Heroes Con. Something that is still mainly focused on the comics.

I managed to get a Sabretooth from the BST. I really want a M.O.E pack but I am not sure if it will only be at SDCC or if it will hit Hasbrotoyshop.com, which would seriously increase my chances of getting one at a reasonable price from none to slim
