The Hammer Concept Drone is pretty close to that- just add in Whiplash's blue whips and you get the most disappinting candyass villians in recent memory- really!
He was good for what? Two minutes in a fight? Rhodey's amor was barely even damaged! Vanko was a comedy straight-man for hodey to test out his (EPIC FAIL!) Hammer-missile on.

Phhht. They should have used Firebrand- imagine IM2 with a crazy flying pyromaniac anarchist instead.

Hell, Titianium Man would have been in-sane.

i forget where i saw it, but someone had a prototype of the whiplash armor. looked good and will be dumped in the box of really kickass unproduced IM2 figures =/

Ah, Tiberus- but the FIRST Whiplash was Marc Scarlotti, who made some fashion mistakes and became Blacklash, then chnged his outfit to a crazy gimp suit and called himself whiplash again, but got killed to death by Tony's armor when it became self-aware, then tried to physically bond with Tony and later sacrificed itself to save Tony's life, however it's sentience was really part of an Ultron retrieval program hidden within the Jocasta program that Tony had salvaged after her "death".

And NOW you know the rest of the backstory.

Also, the first vanko klilled Janice Cord, ehich led to her father laming Tony and trying to destroy him with the raiders and later Firepower.


What I would not do to see Firepower in IM3.

Oh you misunderstood me. I should worded it better lol [I was wondering what the hell you where talking about lol]. What I was saying though is that in Iron Man 2 Whiplashes father was Anton Vanko. With that being said Anton Vanko in the comics was Crimson Dynamo. IF they did it properly for the movie, I really felt that Crimson Dynamo should of been brought in over Whiplash, who you said in a previous post was "he most disappinting candyass villians in recent memory- really!" Which is 100% true. It would of been nice to see that connection with the Vanko name to Crimson Dynamo.

Yeah...but it's all good. For the Crimson Dynamo story to have worked they'd have had to kill Pepper to sorta match the storyline where Janice gets killed.

And that aint happening- the Pepper/Tony dynamic is what makes the IM movies gel.

They could do the firepower storyline as a US military-sponsored project to wipe out superheroes and for "civillian pacification".
Hell, if they had used Firepower against the X-Men instead of Tony, it would ahve been a bloodbath!

Marvel does not overlap their storylines that way though...too bad.

You know, the main terrorist from the first movie had this blingy ring he kept fiddiling with...and the teror cell was called "The Ten Rings".
It's an inside joke or a plot thread put there by John Faverau- he's a HUGE IM fan!

that's why he cast himself as Happy Hogan- Happy eventually marries Pepper.

Maybe he's writing himself a love scene with Ms. Paltrow...

Speaking of Ivan Vanko...I still haven't seen that goddamn comic IM2 Whiplash. I can count the times I've been to a Ross store on one hand. Sadly I think that's the only place those are showing up...which also explains why I don't have a Mandarin as well. Hell, I need to hop on the IM2 bandwagon a little better...it's really sad but currently the only figure I have from the line is movie Whiplash(yesh, I loved him), I'm a sucker for Mickey Rourke. Anybody got a comic whiplash they want to get rid of?
