Hey, we've all gotta start somewhere! And with these revision cases, maybe now's not such a bad time...

And take advantage of the Target sale, if you can!

We all gotta start somewhere homie. Nobody starts out having it all, even if you were hip on new stuff and had your feet on the groundfloor when MU first launches there's still CC exclusives, mail aways, variants, exclusive 2packs and 3 packs, and the rare items. Even with a large budget there's always going to be hard to find/get items, that's why you have collectors the people who are willing to buy 2 figures because the damn name plate is different! or spidey is packaged upside down. Buy what you can, collect what you love, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. As long as your rent gets paid, your bills get caught up and you have $$ for food, w/e left over is for what you desire. But if you're tired trying to build up you collection 1 at a time or trip to the store here and there, shop online go to bbts and create your pile of loot, or look out for ebay for large loose lots. There was a collector I seen recently who had entire waves, every figure including variants and sometimes doubles all loose but complete and selling for the price of 2-3 retail. So it pays to shop around.

Get 'em, bro! And if you dig on the X-Men, I'd say that the Giant Size X-Men box set of six from Toys R Us is good way to go. Pretty solid representations and the best classic Wolverine so far.

Hey don't feel bad. Personally I hated the MU line at first. But right around Galactus and the Ghost Rider wave is when I started to jump on board. Now I'm going ape shit all over these little things lol. I started a little less then a year ago and if you want to see where I am now just click on the link in my signature to see my collection. (Still haven't taken a pic of a few I picked up recently) I am also glad to say I have bought all of mine at retail. Not a single one (exclusion Convention exclusives and mail away items) has been bought online or at a local comic shop at a higher price. I know Guardian and Iron Fist are about to be re released in a revision wave and I THINK short hair Ms. Marvel, but if Blade, X-Force Wolverine or Luck Cage don't get released I will have to go beyond local retail to finish my collection.

Pretty sure there's 2/3 mrs marvels at my zellers and luke cage at a comic shop, but the guy charges slightly more round $12.95/figure. just saying.

Well I guess I should have stated that I don't like to pay pass retail.(don't mind it just don't like to) Don't have Zellers here in Houston. And my local comic shops pretty much have all the ones I am missing. But I love the feeling of stumbling along a "rare" figure in the wild. (I also don't feeling like paying $35 for a Blade lol)

Zellers is the Canadian equivalent to Target same person owns both franchises, and as of this year the remaining Zellers stores , something like 500 are going to be converted into Targets which personally will be a nice change, never been in a Target, but the Zellers my way has been there 25+ years a new facelift would be appreciated, plus Target actually puts items on clearance, not $1 off retail and call it final sale f-that. As for the comic shops you pay a little extra but not as many scalpers/mass market shops there so more choice items left on the pegs, plus if I buy more then 1 figure he gives me no tax, and if I buy a case he pretty much gives it to me for retail.

Galactus is what got me started. Whenever he first hit TRU's last year (Sept-Oct?) is when I jumped on board. I have over 80 figures from the line (Marvel 3.75") now.

Yes, sir. 84 to be exact, but that does include a few doubles (like Hydra Goons, single carded Colossus & 35th Anniversary Set Colossus, single carded Bucky Cap and Comic Pack Bucky, etc).

I keep a spread sheet of all of my "collectibles" (toys).

Galactus was my first figure too. I was just amazed and the amount of articulation on a figure that size for the price. Sure people complain about it being 50 but in actuality it's only really 40 because you do get another figure in the box

Wait, are you guys counting the other lines like Thor, Spiderman, Cap, Iron Man?
I've gotta go make my count sometimes this week. Im guessing im easy over 80+. I had all of my MU stuff on the top of my dresser (replaced with GI Joe vehicles/figures) and have since placed some in my display shelf along with boxing up a lot of MU that didnt fit in my display shelf. A lot cleaner and neater looking around the apartment now.

I was. My count is 3.75" Marvel figures; not specifically the MU line. I'm not going too far back though. The oldest I'm including is XMO.

Ok, so just straight up MU I've got 156 + 25 doubles (5 loose, 20 MOC)

Sister lines (IM2, XMO, CAP, THR, SM) I have 54

For a grand total of 235. (All 3.75 Marvel)

...I may have a problem.

All of these counts make me feel a little better, thought there was only a handful of people in the triple digits. Im easily in the 100's with all of the lines mixed in, MU probably around 80ish.

I still got my receipts from the 3 MU's I bought in the last 4 days. I checked out Target's sale policy. Taking the receipts so i can get my three free figures from the BOGO sale. Should I get a few soldiers (AIM or Skrull) or some actual others (Not many at my Target)
Any suggestions?
