Lol, I just brought it up because it was funny. There's gotta be a Spider-Man themed Wizard of Oz story out there somewhere. "Auntie M" is just too close not to!

I'm reserving judgement on the Spider-Man movie until it is in theaters. I can already say that I hate the Lizard, and from the trailer, I can tell I will hate that Peter Parker helped create the Lizard. In this movie, Dr. Conners seems a little like Norman Osborne - a little unstable after his accident. What makes this move disappointing is all the work the previous movies did to set up a Doc Conners/Lizard moment.
I will say that I like that they are going back to something the previous trilogy lacked, and that is the brilliant Peter Parker. The second movie is the only one that really dealt with this in a meaningful way (and it was of course the best of the three movies). I like that Stacey gets a meaningful role and is placed in her rightful place as Parker's first real girlfriend. But, I worry that this movie will so try to get out of the shadow of the earlier trilogy that it will lose what made those movies a nice addition to the Marvel Universe. Quote:
I'm looking forward to it. It's Spiderman!
I think people get a little too worked up over comic book films. Some are great, some suck, but they're usually entertaining and that's what this is all about. The only comic book "type" (not sure how to classify it) movie that I thought was so bad that it shouldn't have been made in recent memory was that GI Joe movie with the guy who is in a lot of those movies where they have gang dance-offs in back alleys. I haven't met many men who appreciated Channing Tatum in that movie. Retalliation should make you much happier. Rumor has it that Duke gets killed - or perhaps is captured or in a coma? most of the movie. Of course, RoC was many times better in terms of story than TF2. That was just not a good movie.
So far I like what I've read and seen of Retaliation.

Almost every day at work I get to a point where I'm burnt out and start looking at toys online. Today I was looking at what might currently be the most "valued" (says eBay's current listings and bids) MU figure and I noticed that Astral Dr. Strange looks to have really climbed the charts. I only ran a few Dr. Strange searches, but I only found two. Anyway, this seems to be what's hot in terms of variants or rarities.
1) Vision (color) 2) Blade ------------------------------------------------------------ 3) Archangel (Death) -- prices are up and bids are in. 4) Iron Patriot w/Norm's head -- prices look high, but there aren't a lot of high bids and there are a TON listed. Maybe Norm needs to get bumped down a notch or two. 5) Dr. Strange (clear) -- least amount of listings? .. sure looks that way. ..and could the Iron Spidey clear variant be busting into the top five? There aren't a ton listed. I checked Cable w/Hope and he's not top five material at the moment. Any others that you feel might crack this top five?

Question though, are there ML counter parts worth the same? I spotted a Vision and it wasn't at all. |

I've noticed the regular Archangel is starting to get a little pricier as well. As the year goes on these may go up more because of when they've been out as well as rareness.

We should be seeing the new wave soon considering that the psylocke wave hit in late dec. I'm actually looking forward to this wave with the new hulk mold which I think is bada$$, beast, beta ray bill and kraven. I'm only considering ultimate spidey if he has rocker ankles.

The new wave is going to be great. Kraven is full of great detail.. I think he will be the gem of the wave. |

And there's nothing I want from that wave since I use Iron Fist's yellow dragon in my Heroic Age New Avengers (white came later).
I want Wave 18 bad. Real bad. Hope the Secret Avengers Beast is a real variant. |

man, yeah i've been obsessed with that beast figure. even had this weird dream where there was a case that had 2 of em but there were 3 other collectors sitting around trying to get him too. also had this nuclear holocaust theme to it. that's what i get for reading v for vendetta late at night.
