Hey fellas,
I found three deluxe Frost Giants on clearance for $4 each at a Walmart. Anyone want 'em? I personally like them better than the light blue guys, especially at half that price. ![]() |

I need those parts for a Quake custom but I'll never find that fig in the wasteland that is south Florida's scalper-infested retail chains. Trade ya something.... |

just completely out of curiosity, I've seen like a dozen people use "Phantomex" for Fantomex. Is there something I'm missing?

well, ive gone and made yet another iteration to my display space, im never happy with my outcomes. So, i made a new setup to maximize shelf space efficiently and where i can view the most figs at once. Too bad i only gained like 25% more space even after the new villain mezzanine....but at least now i can store figs underneath it.

WOO!
I just got back frm BSing with Big Hank at Michael's Art store- he hooked me up with that Ultimate Thor he had picked up...so here's my mini review: The limited articulation has already been harped on a lot so I'll spare you that again. Sculptwise, this is an excellent figure! VERY comics-faithful, right down to the details on boots and the odd open part on his torso's back. This figure has great paint apps- a nice dark glossy semi- metallic blue for the chest armor and a great job was done on his face- his eyes are excellent a well. Placed next to Showdown Thor, the Ultimate head is the same size- and with some skin tone matching might make for an amazing headswap! Very happy to report that Ultimate Thor is MU scale! Not the too-small size of the Thor movie figures- this figure is noticibly taller than Captain Marvell, but just short of Wonder-Man. He looms over figures like the Skrull or AIM goon- and those guys are baseline human sized (they match GI Joes), so he's a pretty good size. The neck peg is SW sized, so if you wanted Darth Thor, you're in for a treat, but swapping with Sentry might neeed some putty. The face sculpt, I can not stress enough, is just great- superior to the Modern Thor fig (which I rather like) and the beard is nicely sculpted on with the hair being a seperate piece. Removing the hair leaves you with a damn near perfect Thunderstrike head- I'll just need to sculpt the short hair on him! And that's why I wanted this in the first place! Articultion aside, the body looks like a great Thunderstrike base too.. but I'll use him (or a second fig) and his super-ripped arms for Ares as soon as Onyx gets that head/helmet two pack ready for sale! And it'll be epic! This Thor has the biggest guns of any human-proportioned figure! The axe-hammer has a great and faithful look to it, but is a soft rubbery plastic, so I may correct that with a styrene tube so it remains...er...erect...in Thor's hand. It ocurs to me that the hammer side of his axe looks a LOT like the Black Lantern scythe from Blackest Night- could be an easy custom to make if you wanted. The big happy suprise is the odd secondary weapon- I had not payed it any attention in the pics online but this is freakin great! Amazing detail on this-runes on the blade and great detail on the handle's braiding. The weapon sorta opens from spear to axe and looks like something Jack Kirby would have drawn. The colors on this kinda suck but with some repainting, it'll be a gem. I think I'll make it a Kree Universal Weapon with some mods.... Anyone that does not want their oddball spear/axe, I'll happily take it! FINAL VERDICT: This line has already gotten a ton of venom from us collectors but if the other comic-series figs of this line are this good, I'll happily pay the ten (!) bucks this cost. Thor is a pleasant suprise in sculpt, paint apps and great custom fodder parts with a bouns of a cool retro-Kirby weapon that would look great in any alien or generic Asgardian's hands. If this had MU articulation, it would be in the top five Marvel 3.75" figures...but the lack of posability hurts the score so my final verdict is.... 6.5/10 Buy the damn thing already! Off-topic, we should meet up at Supercon.
If it's anything like last year's Supercon weekend, I will need a break from my gf and the 6+ friends she will bring with her. ![]() |

Absolutely! I'll need an extra pair of eyes to visually sift through all the cosplay teens for the good stuff to buy.
Last year I spent almost a freakin grand on original art and crazyness- this year, I'm shooting for a $500 ceiling...unless Chakin will draw me a Nick Fury! Or a Copiel Cap (assuming he shows this year). Gotta get a bunch more bootleg DVD's again too- and get Billy West to record my answering message (currently I have Invader Zim). And who knows? We could be searching or the Kang wave by then! Last edited by Jason Abbadon; 02-19-2012 at 11:16 AM.. |

Comic shops are like 10/10.99 which is like 17 bucks. It really bothers me when I see Americans get all moany about a price increase by a dollar or two, I just get like all "Are you serious, bro? Try collecting the stuff here!" I don't want to come across as rude so I more often than not just bite the lip because stuff can't always be conveyed well online

Was bored and super tired this morning so I decided to do a quick custom of the SW aurra sing I picked up this morning
![]() ![]() Something is missing , I know for sure she is lacking in height ( as most SW figs are compared to MU ) , I might redo her in the future so for now I guess she is a WIP. |

ow. That's as bad as Thor is good.
The dirty white pants really hurt it's looks too- make those purple and it'd at least have a sorta retro-classic look to it. |

I know I'm kinda late on this, but I just got the Daredevil/Bullseye two pack, and its amazing! I love the sculpt and the articulation! The colors are perfect, and the accessories, although scarce, fit perfectly into their hands!!! GAHHH, SO EXCITED.
