Same sorta thing with Astral Doctor Strange- the variant was xommon and then thecolor one showed up and now the variant is super rare.

The only way to be sure is buy freakin' everything!

No, man, here it is. It was a reaction to all the non comic reading jerks. (Why are you collecting Marvel toys if you're not familiar with the books?) They got or saw the Cable figures and were all like "What the hell is all this baby shit?" Hasbro responded by removing it in a running change. Why waste the extra plastic on ignorant ingrates? People who couldn't be bothered to notice the figure came with a SWAPPABLE chest piece so you could display it sans baby. But like I said, the damage was done and Hasbro said "Fine, fuck it!" and glued the non Hope chest piece on and revision waved it, all "Here you go, Assholes!"

I like where you are going with this and I agree.

Yup, so if Hasbro does something right, people won't be sure they did anything at all.

No, Tiberus- I dont agree.
This was obviously and to collectors to have ever had Hope with Cable- the average kid would see the cable/Hope combo and passed on "Cyborg dad"!

Hasbro has been great- unbelievable in fact- with giving us collectors amazing stuff to hunt for- stuff like the variant Havok- no kid wants a juy in a black dance unitartard with a tiara- but they made him for us!
Same with original costume Ms. Marvel, Osborn head Iron Patriot and every other variant.

It's for us.

If they reall were "mad" at us, we'd never have got the Doc Strange or Creed variants or even a stand variant like Namor....or the upsoming Darkhawk variant.

Now that you mention it, Osborn head IP is the only variant I never saw in the wild. That's pretty good for Hasbro if I do say so.

Someone list up all the varints- I bet there's at least ten so far- that's a lot of collector love.

True, true, but it's the variants that that really applies to. The running changes are usually to address a complaint, like Xavier School costume Wolverine and his nasty shell head. Collectors don't care about nasty shell head. Really, I'm just bitter that I never got my "Cyborg dad"! Lol.

"nasty shell head"?

?

I'll keep an eye peeled for a Hopeful Cable- I passed one maybe two months back (after buying an extra Doc Strange and Falcon that no one actually needed and deciding against buying extras for a while!)

SubMariner Imperi\us Rex stand/all the others.....
Iron Patriot Shell head/Osborn head (never saw that vari in hand)

Did you? I found the Hopeless one a while back, but have been keeping it in package in the off chance someone would take it and five bucks for the "hopeful" (nice) version.

The "Dark Ms. Marvel" repaint with new head (the version to get, BTW!)
Havok's girly outfit with tiara.
Norman Osborn Iron Patriot
Black emblem Iron Fist (closed hand- though this may bea "running change").
Warpath in red and blue
Punisher withblack or white gloves and alternate heads and a third "jim Lee" version from the Target Two Pack)
Black Panther from Traget Two Pack with grey costume and cape (the one to have)

If we count the packaging and stand variants, there's also Scarlet Spider, Namor, House of M Spidey...

MU Variants (That I'm aware of):

Series 1:

Dark Red Daredevil
Dark Blue Bullseye
Dark Blue and White Human Torch
Black Costume Ronin
Black Dragon/Closed Hand Iron Fist
Dark Blue and White Thing
Dark Ms Marvel (Karla Sofen)
Glossy Red Hulk
Glossy Electro
Upside Down Packaged Spider-Man

Series 2:

Wave 6 New Head Mold Wolverine (Wasn't aware of this one actually)
X-men Costume Warpath
Phasing Vision
White Shirt Luke Cage (Idk the story on this one)
Yelena Belova Black Widow (Idk what's going on with this one either)
Death Mask Archangel
Classic Havok
Norman Osborn Head Iron Patriot
Long Hair Winter Soldier
Skrull Language Stand Skrull Soldier (Never seen or head of it before)

Series 3:

Cable w/o Hope (Running change)
Astral Doctor Strange
Upside Down Packaged "Spider-Man" stand Scarlet Spider
Son of Hulk Stand Skaar
Paint Variant Darkhawk
Imperius Rex stand Sub-Mariner
Iron Man Nameplate Tony Stark
Human Skinned Absorbing Man (Or Metal skinned, it's debatable)

And I think that's all of them... for the single carded ones anyways. Some might say that Classic Ms Marvel and 'Flame-on' Human Torch were variants but since they got their own figure number they're technically not variants.

Yeah it can get crazy. I was thinking of the ones offhand that are tooling variants (considering Astral Strange and Phasing Vision as retools) but yeah, there's a couple Punishers too....the list goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on...............................................

Yeah I mentioned that Thing in there. I just didn't mention the original non-variant versions. In this case, that would be the light blue and black Thing I didn't mention because it isn't a variant.

That is true, but it wasn't a variant because it doesn't share the same figure number or even the same packaging. Thus, not making it a variant.

Here we are, Wolverine running change:

I use shell head cause it's not even head shaped, rather it's just a bunch of hair with a face on it, like a little half shell shape. Nasty.

Maybe they should have just "running change'd" that fig into the trash can...
