Doesn't matter whether or not it's grey or black or dark blue (even though that was the color she wore) now. Either way it's inaccurate to her soon to be current look in Uncanny X-Force. As you can see below she finally got a much deserved update on her old look.

She's also got a larger range of strategic aspects as opposed to wolverine. Wolverine's an animal and a self-proclaimed thug. X-23 is strategic with accuracy and pin point precision. Basically she's the exact opposite of wolverine in every way which is what makes her fun and interesting as opposed to say Daken who is just Wolverine with a mohawk who is 'evil by environment'. Though all 3 tend to really play up to the nature vs nurture argument as well.

My favorite part about the character though personally, is unlike wolverine who reacts by his gut instincts, she reacts based on her surroundings and all available information. Issue 7 of her ongoing really highlights this. It's a situation where wolverine would have just gutted them all anyway. Due to the surroundings and all the information available though, X-23 avoids killing anyone. It's a great highlight to their differences in personalities and what they see. For a TV comparison, she's the Ziva to Logan's Gibbs if you watch NCIS.

I like the new look but if history is any indication, it won't last, they've tried updating her look 3 or 4 times since the 90's and she always ends up back in the ninja bathing suit

No- it's still dark purple (or it's black and shaded with purple, but that makes no sense as marvel usually used blue for that, like Spidey's black costume).

The grey sash is kinda stupid anyway- it's not like it's gonna fool anyone:
"Oh! I thought that was Psylocke, but it's obvuiosly some other scantily-clad purple-haired ninja woman with a white sash. Put out an APB on Electra!"

I'll happily have her red-sashed version in my collection!
