It just seems almost impossible for that much smoke to invade your place that it has ruined your stuff..are there holes drilled in the floorboards??? Maybe there is a problem with your heating/cooling system..you could be marinating in some ungodly chemical concoction as we speak!

I'm strongly considering selling my X-Force Archangel. Am I crazy? Probably. Broke? Definitely. Do you guys think I should let it go?

yah, this area is really slow to change....im guessing because its an old city the majority of this area is townhouse apartments and it would cost a ton of money to retro fit them all for nonsmoking...but that is just an educated guess, i really have no idea.

i might just end up moving the next town over since none of the places i can even find in this area are even open until next year. there is no way in hell i am staying in that place until then the way it is.
outside of the anger of having my stuff ruined iam just really sad that the people themselves seem to want to be aggressive when confronted the nicest way possible to a situation like this.

either way i cant stay there so it looks like motel/hotel living is where ill have to go until i can find something

i partially answered it above. its an old town places here are townhouses separated into apts. there is really nothing that anyone can do to insulate places like this since they are all wood floors. once it finds it way in there is no way to get it out. it comes through the floor and into the walls. nothing short of gutting these places and totally redoing their insides would do anything

But as I said, sell it for a crazy amount of money on eBay unless an Arker is willing to give you the money you want for it =3.

To be honest, I don't really know how much to ask for it. Anything I sell on eBay is usually listed low and I just back off and see what happens. What do you think?

Thanks for the advice man. Mine was taken out of the shipping box, but I never opened the figure's packaging. I might start the auction at $90 and see what happens. It sucks to let it go, but I'm in a tight spot right now. I was even offering up my Dark Galactus, now those are dark times.

If you can get $90 for that X-Force AA, more power to you, but you can still sign up for the sub for $60 (plus the $6 you have to send them for shipping & handling) and get the figure, so I'm not sure why anyone would pay more than that. There's a million idiots out there though, so what do I know,... hopefully one of them will bid on your Angel.

The "get a free X-Force AA" sticker is even still on the latest Comic Packs.

LOL! That's one reason. Though there are probably hundreds more. I love the philosophy debate personally she represents from being a minor, abused, and used as an object that she represents that almost makes seeing her as a sexy object wrong. She makes for a very interesting concept that's convoluted to an infinite degree.

Again though, who would bother if she wasn't an attractively drawn character anyway? xD (Which adds to the whole philosophical nature.)

went "out of town" today (about 10 miles down the road). My hauls:
Wal-mart (and Family Dollar- no MUs):

Target-

Not big on SW that much anymore but liked these guys. Will consider trades if you really want them. Don't know how hard they are to find.
And the best deal at my HEB-

all 8 for $31. BOGO free. MUs are $7.18 and IM2 figures $7.48

Also had a pallet of Monster High dolls at Walmart (with Abbey, Toralei and Spectra) for those who care (evil- I'm looking at you )

Ouch. Well I'll see what happens I guess. I could use the cash, and my interest in this line is dwindling. I appreciate your observation, and it made me think about how stupid it is to want the exact same figure just because it comes in a slightly different box. Lame.

that really sucks. Don't know why people can't just smoke outside. If it makes the walls yellow, it most certainly will destroy toys

If the landlord is seriously allowing that, they're idiots. If the smoke is damaging your figures, think about what it's doing to the actual apartment they're smoking in. That apartment is going to be uninhabitable. Or at least only rentable to people that fall for "painting over the smoke stains".

Unfortunately, as you've found out, in this instance your only option is to move. Landlords like that never change or care. They're the ones who eventually wind up with empty apartments $500 over the local prices who can't figure out why nobody will take them.

I'm sorry your figures were ruined. Maybe you can store them at your parent's or a friend's house for a while? I had to start storing my stuff in a giant pile in a legal bookcase when I got cats, because they started playing with them, until I was able to go to Ikea and get some display cases. I was even buying the new figures, and putting them right into the pile, waiting to get a case.

Yeah, but after you get your Achangel for $66, what are you supposed to do with that useless subscription to Marvel's digital comics?

?

Their service isn't that bad, so I'm guessing that you are being sarcastic. That said, I did recently cancel my digital subscription, and I thought it was interesting that they asked "why?". I told them I didn't like the way the viewing software worked, and I would rather spend my money some other way. If the digital comics were downloadable it would have been worth it, but instead I had to use crappy software to inconveniently zoom in on the comic panels of each page. Lame.

I agree with this. It's one of my issues to it too. One of the biggest times I read comics is when the internet is down, or I'm not at the PC which makes the subscription useless to me since I can't read them offline at all.

They should look into how Veoh TV used to work. Where it let you download videos, but once the video was removed from the site, or in this case, the subcription is up, it disallows you from reading or viewing the work in question. Really wouldn't be that hard to create and add either since it'll be tied to your subscription name. When offline it would check if your time is up for the comics you had DLed, and when connected to the internet it can verify it hasn't been modified compared to their records. In turn with an add function, it could then also read other digital comic subscriptions or purchases. Much again like how Veoh tv let you add your own videos that are on your computer. So long as it only monitored your marvel subscription status and didn't accidentally block you from reading anything you own on it, it would be a great help and way to organize digital comic boxes as it were. Which would in turn gain them a better digital presence if the reader it used was decent.

Name, that really sucks about your collection...there might not be any bi-laws in your area regulating the smoking, however, you can write a letter(send it certified), to your landlord explaining the situation. It's a 10 day notice to fix letter. Regardless of the lack of laws there, you still have a right to a clean and healthy living environment. The landlord can create an addendum to any lease and post it to all residents of the complex. Keep 2 copies of your written 10 day. The second copy send it too your local housing authority. Make sure to note that there are more people living in the apartment that is allowed in your letter as well. It really depends on how far you want to take it...I know moving sucks and it always seems like the easier way out. And the majority of people don't want to be "that person who complains" but at this point what it's done to your collection is nothing compared to what it's doing to your lungs and body. Best of luck
