I seen them here at Target, but they disappear fast. Like you I got it at HTS as well with that nice discount coupon they had. Sure miss those!

He was obviously hiding something, that shady fucker. He probably didn't pay his taxes, next thing you know he'll be locked up with Wesley Snipes. Damn you Bullseye.....

The goofy grin is what kills it for me. One of the few figures I don't own. Never bothered to pick him up.

No- the Darkeye has a different and clearly insane head.
Normal (heroic) Hawkeye just has a smirk.

Read the entire GotG seperately- you can see the major events from their perspective and you get to see that Rocket Raccoon has the biggest balls in the entire MU- facing down Gladiator ...with a mop!

And there's an awesome Kang-related storyline in there...wherein Kang warns the Guardians about the return of the Magus- it's classic badass Kang at his best- utterly unflappable in the face of universal destruction....and I guess he and mantis had hooked up sometime in the past (which is hilariously revealed).
They team up with Killraven and his crew in the future too!

You also get Phyla and Drax going into the land of Death to get Moondragon back, Adam warlock Vs. Vulcan, Gamora vs. Phyla, the return of Quasar, team ups, double-crosses, drinking and lots of lots of fighting!

oh, and you get to see Major Victory sling Cap's shield with telekinesis! He bounces that thing around in a big fight like a superball in an elevator.

i love how no one knows who they are or takes them seriously but they save the universe from cthulhu monsters from beyond the stars on a daily basis before breakfast.

Yeah- when they go to the Inhumans to try and stop the War of Kings everyone says "The Guardians of what?!?"
Then they sorta accidently kidnap Crystal.

Plus...Starlord just walks right up and talks smack to anyone. Thanos even.

i loved that - "please don't go to war with the shi'ar empire which might just cause the destruction of the entire universe" "no" "uh.. was there a plan b?"

haven't read much passed issue 15 or 16 since the marvel digital subscription doesn't have the rest up. which completely blows. thinking i'll just pick up all the trades and also need to read the annihilation story arc then reread the thanos imperative afterwards.

Definitely read further- and always remember- I have the original artwork for the second printing cover of Thanos imperative: Ignition franed on my wall.

[/bragging]

Also cool is how anyone can get killed on that team- none of the nonsense where you know none of the Avengers are going to get killed (as they're all cash-cows). On GotG, your favorite character can just...die.

And sometimes...they lose.

oh yeah man, i intend to read as much as possible. if there was ever a team i actually felt for, it's the GotG. like the moment that rocket learns that lilandra was killed after all their efforts of putting her in place then sitting together drinking coffee in the den of Knowhere, i dig that. or like warlock saving the universe but bridging the timeline with evil magus. everything actually costs in these stories.

also awesome to see how they bridged this GotG with the old school year 3000 GotG. not to also mention how badly i need most of the team in toy form. maybe a masterworks groot that screams "I AM GROOT" in various ways.

@Disrup - thems for opening right?? =D

Yeah- we need more Guardians...but it's a big damn team- ten members!

Someone at the Onyx forums has made them all except Phyla....and Cozmo.

at the very least i'll take the first iteration of the team before the initial fallout so just need warlock, groot, mantis, and phyla as quasar. still no sign of the warlock pack hitting retail in force. =\

That customizer made his GotG Warlock from a Steve Rogers- just sculpted new hair, swapped hands with someone and repainted- lookes great too!

I've got mantis and moondragon in the works now- there's a bald SW comic pack X-Wing pilot that works perfectly as Moondragon (her head anyway)!

An odd, off-topic comment on this Guardians of The Galaxy Appreciation Thread .

You know...they could really make groot a Gigantic battle pack- maybe with Mantis!
All I need to make certain that happens is to spend many hours making a nice custom of her- then she's sure to get announced!

sigh.

Well, at least my Black Bolt custom is making a nice classic Grim Reaper now...(BWHAAH!!)
Back when being an Avengers villian meant having a big headdress or crown of some kind and a grudge with almost no rational basis.

and man i have that figure. was gonna turn her head into quorra from tron legacy but never got around to it. she'd make a great moondragon. just need to get stuff together to fix up rocket first. did a quick sketch to figure out how i want the articulation. just need to sculpt the upper arms and lower half and make joints for em. once he's done i'll figure out how i wanna make groot then see about making the rest of the team.

That Moondragon head is great- but I made new )arched) eyebrows for her- now she's perfect! I gotta cut tiny little crescents for her earrings though...if only I had not lost the throwing crescents from Moon Knight the instant i opened him..both times!

Man, I want to see an articulated RR! You gotta make him a mop accessory though!

Any idea where I can get some 1:18th scale beer mugs for my team?
