Vehemently disagree on Torch, w all due respect. MU Flame On Torch is pretty outstanding.
You must have an outstanding paint app on your Flame-On. Both of the ones I've seen/owned were pretty god-awful.

Some mu appreciation

I was up in mammoth this past easter weekend for snowboarding. So I decided to take some of the homies up.

Not MU but who else would win in the snow.

first off i'm not "a-word" about my collection, so paint apps have to be downright booty for me to have an issue with my fig.

as for the FO Torch i own, he's a fine specimen. does the job with no qualms.

I still don't have a single Human Torch so I can't say. Is the one in the Secret Wars pack any good?

after doing some image searching on the available torch figures, i cosign this, that's the torch figure i want. but i'm biased towards any of the definitive looks from the 80's.

contemplating making it rain on Amazon too for the Jim Hammond/Android Torch that came in that SDCC Invader set.

You can get the Invaders OG Torch on eBay pretty cheap by himself. He's one of my favorite MU figures.

I use the Secret Wars Torch for my Fantastic Four.

random, but i'd love to have a Red Ronin figure the same size as those MU sentinels.

...and a Watcher one would be sweet. Heck, all the cosmic dudes.

thanks im usually hesitant to check Ebay, but i'll definitely snoop around on there for that figure. I've seen it for around $40 on Amazon... is that comparable?

edit: ahhh, right now, anywhere between 35 to 40 bucks. That's about as much as im willing to pay for a figure.

Carded is usually $25-$40 with loose being $15-$25. There's less on there right now than usual though.

i'd say keep checking in case you stumble on a less than you're willing to pay sort of deal. like i wanted a grey showdown beast tha's usually 40-60 plus shipping and ended up seeng one for 30 with free shipping. didn't buy it though but good deals happen from time to time.

but of course Doom is my favorite/ideal villain. one minute he is a cruel despot, the next a honor bound ruler, and altogether greatness

To chime in on the great torch debate, My vote goes to the Secret Wars 2 pack, followed by the flame on version, and the Showdown pulling up a distant third. I use the Secret Wars version in my classic fig displays, and the flame-on version as my modern torch.

Invaders Torch is just a totally different dude.

Showdown Thing, on the other hand, is one of the best 4 inch scale Marvel figures ever made, imo. Nothing Hasbro has done has come close.

Showdown Sue is fugly. The first Hasbro Reed is terrible, but the second is passable. I'm not the biggest fan of Showdown Reed, but he's not the worst I've seen.

As far as being banned from sites go, I'm currently on a forced temporary leave from a certain marvel news site that has a mod that I keep call out for d-baggery, and then I get in trouble. Ce la vie. There are always other places to go to talk about toys. I've been enjoying the ark quite a bit as of late.

Why hasn't Series 2 of TRU's Avengers light-up base figures been released in more than a couple places?

I mean, i've had Black Widow & Black Panther for awhile now (THANKS TO DRAGONKINGS) but I have yet to see them in store or even on tru.com.
