Meh, I'll just deal with the paint rub. It's not too bad.
Thanks for all the advice on how to go about this, here's the final product;

It's nothing spectacular, but I just really loved the costume. It's sentimental to me because my favorite spiderman you from when I was little also had this costume, here they are side by side.

Old 10" Marvel Universe next to 3.75" scale. What a difference, lol.

Difference? They've got the same awful hip articulation.

You should pick up the Web Strike Spider-Man from the previous Spider-Man line. http://marvelousnews.com/database/index.php?itemid=1610

Google hot glue gun effects. You can make very nice flame effects using it and a little transparent paint. Looks like it will also work for water effects as well.

I'm planning on trying it myself.

It's coming out with Wolverine, Longshot and Baby Cyclops. We haven't seen any official pics yet but SDCC is around the corner

I do hope it's 90's Jim Lee Rogue. Would bring me one step closer to my Marvel vs. Capcom collection without resorting to more customizing.

Simple handswap makes an amazing figure even better in my opinion... ;D

Got the 4-pack Hulk from Arker FancyPants and can't stop playing with the awesome figure! Then I got the idea to do a handswap with the WWHulk (since every hulk should come with one fist and one grabbing hand for proper pummeling!)

Great pics glad you got your guys. That loki needs a cape. I was thinkin about getting a staff from the avengers loki and using a clear band to fasten it to that loki. Then again, my loki has the infinity gauntlet

My wife likes to play jokes on me. She moves the gauntlet around and puts it on different people. It was on princess leia when I got home today

I picked up 4 skrulls, another hawkeye, and another black widow today. Now I can open my doubles. Finally! My local walmart had ironmen figures marked down on final clearance to 75 cents, so I picked up a bunch of doubles of the comic figures for painting.

Also, I'm still trying to trade off my 2 of the walmart avengers 6 inch hulks and 1 walmart avenger hawkeye. This is my mini pimping of the trade thread.
