A quick update, I thank all the arkers for helping me in this horrible time for me. Everything will ship out tomorrow morning and will pm everyone that purchased a delivery confirmation #.. I have almost 15 shipments and took me 4 hours this morning to pack them so I didn't have time send them. I'm getting more inquiries too so I'm sure I'll be busy packing tonight. I hope everyone enjoys the figs. Sad to see them go

Bro... just a few months ago you joined us here in the thread and quickly made a solid reputation for yourself. One thing about toy collecting is that it'll always be around. Handle LIFE first. The fun stuff you enjoy when the time is right.

I personally thank you for contributing to the growth of this community.

given the current discourse I think pictures is the last thing we need.

What if someone local actually collected the donated figs and handed them in person to the parents.
I know there are several people in the area, puts a face on the message board for them and allows for someone to eliminate any purple jellied suprises.

My buddy was thinning his GI Joe collection so I picked up 2 Rhinos from him for my S.H.I.E.L.D. crew. Just need to get some stickers for them. Also finally got an Avengers Black Widow.

A little weird and frankly disturbing.
I'll say that I agree 100%.

But had he wanted to trade or buy from us we still would have had to ship. I don't see why he can't just say he traded or bought them. His choice really. But no one here is breaking the law. And it's important that the kid understands that this in no way obligates him to return the favor in any way! Should anyone PM him suggesting so, he should ignore or tell an authority figure! It is a fine line some of us have chosen to walk and I don't think it should happen again.

He never solicited the toys or had any expectation of getting any. I think it's a nice thing to do but with that said no more. Besides with this example some might try and take advantage, so making it a habit or doing it even one more time would lead to a pretty messed up situation.

I think those of us who have contributed have done it in as safe and considerate a way as the situation demands. I can't say it was right or wrong, but I think our hearts were in the right place.

You know considering there's at least one minor that we know of monitoring this thread you couldnt censor yourself with that comment? What if his parents were monitoring this thread?????

Since you are so concerned with our young friends lack of knowledge of the world: hey Squirtle, Shockwave is what's known as a hypocrite.

A hypocrite is a person who calls out or condemns someone for doing something and then does the exact same thing.

That's lesson number two today.

Read yourself, fella. You're a little late to my punchline, obviously.

If you can't read through the irony, I wouldn't be surprised.

I was trying to speak your language. Apologies if you couldn't keep up.

I'm just sayin'.

A kid can't afford action figures, half of a forum mobilizes to give him toys; I try numerous times (not on this board but on others) to get attention to my non profit organization dedicated to stamping out apathy in relation to the homeless here in the States, not a peep of interest. It's just a little darkly ironic.

The difference is that most don't bother thinking of others in unfamiliar situations. You are doing a good thing and that's freaking amazing, but there is no cognitive dissonance here. We can all relate and some have the ability to help.

Best of luck with your efforts. Hit me up with some info and I'll see what I can do to help.
