Yeah. And you may not need to even paint it again if you're satisfied with the colors it produces. It'll be dark just maybe not black.

Just remember to take the figure completely apart, or as much as you can, so the dye can get to all the joints. Put all the pieces into cheese cloth or something like that, so you don't lose anything. Put your cheese cloth pouch into your boiling pan of Rit dye and you're good. Take it out and check it after maybe 30 minutes and rotate the legs so that the dye has access to both sides of the hip joint.

I used this technique for an X-Force Archangel and it worked quite well. The blue all turned black and the pink became a super dark purple-y, majenta color, which made painting in the silver easy as I had a guide.

Because different densities of plastic and different colors take the dye in different and unexpected ways, I've always wanted to dye the Hand ninja or Avengers' Skrulls black. I imagine they'd come out pretty bitchin...

Well I hope someone at the panel asks , Where the hell is all the stuff that was supposed to be out this year?? Stuff has been leaking out in dribbles, Figures of future waves are appearing all over(Prof X, Jubilee,Blastaar etc.) Even now 2 packs are showing up on ebay Spiderman/Doom, She Hulk/Wolverine etc.( from sellers in the US) Who do you have to screw to get these? Obviously the stuff is being made but isnt being released to the massed market. Its like being in a desert and watching a sno cone evaporate before you can eat it.

Well while I still worry bout these "distribution issues", you're right most of the placards say something to the extent of August to October. Man, that's alot of stuff in about 3 months. New or old collectors, we all could be playing catch up.

I talked to Dwight Stall about this very issue on preview night. He said that there are 3 waves of MU sitting on the docks, and the delays were originally intended to be much shorter. But due to logistics issues, specifically that they ran out of UPC codes and had to switch to a new prefix, the delay was much longer than they expected. Apparently the retailers didn't understand what was changing, and were ready to purge the old codes from their databases before Hasbro caught it. Much of the delay at this point has been due to the reexplaining of the situation between the distributors and the retailers.

He went on to assure me multiple times that David Vonner left them so far ahead in the MU department that they have more than enough new figures to last until the end of 2013, if not beyond. Both Dwight and another independent Hasbro painter assured me that MU isn't going anywhere.

Dwight was really excited about their new Legends ideas, so it was bait difficult to keep them talking about MU, especially when most of that work has been long done.
