Lately I've been thinking of selling off my ml collection as well, just don't have the money or the space to collect both lines. I'm way more invested in mu at this point and their just so much easier to display and use for dios.

I also enjoy reading them. I'm on the East coast of the US, so I always have like 3 or 4 pages to catch up on in the morning, and I enjoy when one of your comics is in one of them. :]

They're pretty cool to look at, but even among the X-Men only, some of the figs are nasty lookin. Best just to skip it. MU will be up around $15 a figure in a year anyway, so you'll get your price gouging fix from that, lol.

Tell me about it....I just last week packed up 400+ joes, and about 100 vehicals cus of space....and I have a whole room to myself for toys...Damn Cobra troop builders...lol...
Here's a few shots of some of my joes...mind you this is only about 40% of my joe colection....and since these pics were taken,I've changed the whole room around... I hate the fact that every time I get new stuff I have to move everything around, and then I don't have current pictures anymore. Bah! Can't remember if I posted this one, but it's all changed around now too: ![]() Great picture! I wish the MU comic-colored sentinel was articulated enough to fit here, it's a much better rendition, IMO. That Iceman and his ice blasts are WONDERFUL! You'd be pulling our legs, bro! There's no packaging and there's a stand... Quote:
Happy I found a second Witch and Kang though! |

Jeez this thread moves fast. Finally caught up.
me three. Quote:
been a min. had to post an update on the growing MU on my work desk. hopefully I can order that 12 figure set for the next two waves on BBTS to add to this ridiculousness in my cubicle. co-workers i've never met have heard about it and have taken a trip to my desk to see this geek spectacle.
had to place these duplicates somewhere. funny how some figs end up being cooler than when you looked at it in its pkg, once you figure out a cool pose. Anybody got a Maria Hill for sale? :P Quote:
Picked up an extra classic color Sentinel at TJ Maxx in Geortown this morning. If anyone in the Austin area wants it just send me a PM. The only caveat is that you'll have to pick it up from me in Round Rock or North Austin. $33 (Cost + Tax + Rounded up to the nearest dollar)
I also wanted to commend all of the great pictures I've been seeing lately and Scythe's art project. This is a great thread to follow! Now here's some FF appreciation! ![]() Agreed. That apocalypse is amazing. I'm also not a fan of how stubby be looks. I imagine him being tall. Quote:
Nice sig. Now I want one too. Quote:

I can't wait for season 3 to start up. I started off with collection the joe's 25th anniversary line when they came out. The nostalgia brought me back then I transitioned into mu. I line this scale. Swapping posts and accessories is the best for this scale. Quote:

I need some advice guys. I'm gonna buy one of the fantastic four sets. But which one should I get? On one hand I want the future foundation versions because they look awesome and that's how they look in the comic right now. On the other hand, I love the blue look and it looks a whole lot more like the f4 I know and love. Suggestions would be welcome.
Quote:
Very cool pic. I like the use of the marvel legends bases. Its too bad the new ml don't have them. Quote:
Now all my joes are here in the boxes and totes...Going to do a update to my collection thread this week....
Quoted from my collection thread: AND STUFF I HAVE NO ROOM FOR...Got lots of Vintage Joes,25th all in those totes...Tackle boxes full of SW,Marvel, and G.I.Joe weapons..In the boxes, dio stuff, stands, and file cards....Some day i'll get this stuff STILL NEED TO HANG ALL MY CHOPPERS!! Love that danger room pic. The bamfing clouds are great!!! Quote:
They have some pretty nice figures that're freakin' amazing, but seems you gotta be willing to pay top dollar for them to own. That's fine and dandy for those who can, shit I could if I wanted as I'm pretty well off, but why though? I can't justify such high prices for toys, I only lay down top dollar for electronics that help my occupation. The whole market value thing is lost on me. That wasn't the deciding factor to when deciding between MU or ML. Scale was.
Quote:
I collected ML from the start to the end of the Toybiz run. I would say they're hit or miss. When they hit they where amazing. Great articulation, good paint aps, great likeness. Some of my all time favs were 90s Beast, Colossus, both tiger striped and brown Wolverine, Juggernaut, Sabretooth, Bishop, Iron Fist and Power-Man, the 6 pack Spidey, Green Goblin, and Lizard, Dr. Octopus, and wave 3 Thor. I could go on and on. So many Awesome figures.
But when they missed, it was disgusting. Lady Deathstrike, Zemo, Cyclopes, Angel, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Movie Jean. Again, I could go on and on. I'm a consistency man, I like all my figures to be in scale and in a similar style. Really easy to notice when they're not at 6". But still the same issues plague MU. Just not as much. I can deal with a crappy figure here and there. But when it's a character you really like and want, and he comes out all messed up it can make you want to cry. I like that things seem to improve as time goes on with Hasbro. They're cheap as hell, but the have some innovative ways of doing things. All the soft plastic accessories they use instead of making new sculpts works really well and is a plus for customizers. The fact that they keep on adding new articulation to sculpts. Still waiting for an ab crunch. But the best thing about the line in my opinion is the scale. saves so much space and fit's with all the other lines and opens things up for those wanting to go deeper and deeper into the craze that can be collecting. I'm looking at you WalkingDeadpool. So to get to my point, I sold off 98% of my ML collection and with the exception of missing a few from time to time (Power-Man + iron Fist) I really could care less. MU is an Awesome line. It's like meeting a great lady after you've had your heart broken. You find something good enough and you just move on. Sure you think about her sometimes, but that shit passes quick when you got something sweet to appreciate. Ditto. Its a task to go through writing ppl on my phone just to keep up. |

Can someone please convince me to not collect ML....
I have a pretty solid X-men collection from the original line, but I picked up the SDCC set just for trade, but man, I keep looking at them, including the new X-force deadpool and the 2-pack Warpath.... I wanna get them all now.... But damn, I'm way to wrapped up in MU, I think maybe I should just sell all my old ML and the SDCC pack and have extra MU money... Quote:

This. Nothing personal to ML collectors, but I've met some pretty nasty people who argue with me about market value and all that when I've just showed any small amount of curiousity. At a swap meet once, my friend asked about a McSpidey and an Astonishing Wolverine ML's, my friend has no idea about the whole market price and such, so when he was given a huge total, he was surprised and politely said he couldn't afford that and walked away. Upon walking away, the dealer said to his friend: "F*cking poor ass losers, they don't get ML." So I gave him the bird and told him to come at me bro. Luckily things didn't escalate quickly Ron Burgundy style. While there are some freakin' awesome ML collectors, the line is way to scalped and around alot of parts, poorly distributed. Makes it hard to enjoy collecting.
let's be specific and not general. you were at a Swap Meet... not exactly the classiest place on Earth. ![]() i've saved sooo much with my ML collection by shopping patiently. that's the only secret i know. don't bite on stupid prices because your ass (not you specifically, scythe) can't fucking wait it out. smh. i swear some collectors can be retarded.
