I see what you guys are saying....But to me when a figure is the the same mold....In my eyes its a Variant...It's a variation of the original...This is the way I see it...I really can care less about numbers on the card...But that's just me...

green and grey hulk are the same aswell just different number, and i think only green hulk has the open hand and the other has double fist.

well, IMO there are waaaay too many figures that use the same molds to call them variants but I see what you guys are saying.

I know..But when they use the same molds for new characters,there is some kind of re-tooling....In the case of Flame on torch,it's the same figure all togather.....

Im just trying to understand the definition of a variant/running change as understood by the collector community, the last thing I want is to mislead someone if I claim somethings a variant and its not. Thank you all for clearing this up though, I appreciate it.

Well, since the word variant means different from the something of the same general kind, you could say that yes, each spidey is a dif variation. I would be willing to say that.

I don't know whether there's an actual name for it or not but it's the very first wave 1 release. I've seen the darker ones referred to as the Negative Zone costumes
