Okay, so I cant stop customizing my AIM guys!
These are not "customs" really- just easily upgraded versions that you Arkers can do in no time or great results! My favorite thing to do is chop up that bandolier thing they come with and glue the pouches and grenades into their belt, boots etc. Really mkaes the soldiers unique and it's real easy- just X-Acto and super glue. Also cool is to glue that laser pistol o the leg, then glue on flat black rubber bands or strips of rubber around the leg for a holster strap. And of course, these guys are AIM! No crappy normal weapons are gonna cut it- get some Star wars guns and re-arrange them into new and cool AIM guns- they cut apart and glue together exactly like the AIM bandolier does- it's the same plastic! Newly tweaked is a Scientist Supreme: ![]() His gun alone is made from two SW guns and a Winter Soldier scope! Group shot: ![]() This one's arm bracers are from a GI Joe Wraith fig, his gun is modified SW and he's got a leg holser with AIM laser blaster. ![]() This guy's got it all- I took the leg straps from an extra Cyclops to make leg holsters for guns. He's got explosive charges and detonator from a FIrefly and two big damn SW guns. ![]() My big "tank" made from a Wrecker body, ![]() Weapon specialists: ![]() ![]() As always, your comments and abject praise is welcome! ![]() |

The Wraith arm stuff is on yet another fig- killer-robot style! Firefly is THE action figure accesory grab bag of weaons and stuff! So far, the Scientist Supreme is my favorite- his shoulder pads and boot gun are from that XMO Logan, the gun is a SW rifile with MY grenade launcher and Winter Soldier scope, Custom ar strap with grenades, leg holster for sidearm and a big gold blingy for his helmet! Gotta take a pic of the guy with the cazy cowboy hat- my "McKready" guy- his damn hat fell off in the car and I cold not photograph it last night at work! Nothing says "dangerous" like a mad scientist wearing a trashpail on his head with a cowboy hat over that and two laser pistols in his hands! Last edited by Jason Abbadon; 09-10-2011 at 08:24 AM.. |

Those AIM Soldiers are great! I just picked up an extra one to do exactly what you have done with them. No customs for me though.

Great work here. I absolutely love them. Simple, but very creative. The AIM Soldiers are some of my favorite of the MU figures, but you've taken them to a whole other level. Go ahead, pat yourself on the back. You deserve it
![]() And did you actually customize those stands or is it just photoshopped? They're great too! |

Exactly what you said, went toy hunting, and found a restocked walmart with 2 aim soldiers, but $10/figure is a lil much, bbts has em on for $6/figure.

I'd like to build an army of Skrulls/Aim soldiers etc but at the moment there are other characters I want way more so I can't justify spending the money on the same figure over and over again. Nice customs. I slept with Spider-Woman 006 times is hilarious!!!

Oh wow. If Hasbro made the AIM soldiers more like these I would have bought me an army.

Awesome army of AIM soldiers, I always liked this idea and loved the pics the first time you posted that Wrecker repaint. Ive been looking for a second Wrecker and for some more AIM soldiers to try to have a custom team like you have.
Great job man!

why cant hasbro make something as clever as this? They can give us 5 packs of stormtroopers but wont do diddly squat about marvel goons.

I actually gave it away because it was too creepy. One of my favorte movies- and the prequel opens in Octobe (I think!) Someone even made a full sized resin model if the spider-head but NO WAY would I have that in my house! ![]() Quote:
The Wrecker and AIM soldiers are $6 at BBTS...maybe time to order a couple more (it's so addictive!). Quote:
I just started tweaking my (Cap movie) Hydra goons the same way- I took the pouch-belt from an extra Cyclops and gave it to a (comic colored) Hydra goon, dithed the brown harness and added a Hydra decal emblem for his chest and lastly some inkwash to bring out details...Total custom time- 30 minutes! I'll post pics of that guy tomorrow! SOMETHING AWESOME I LEARNED: If you use Testor's Dullcoat on figures, they look 1000% cooler- it takes off the plastic shine and makes even untouched figs look custom painted- works on plastic only (so no rubber capes, etc.) but it's SUCH an improvment! That hydra goon I mentioned looks a million times cooler now that his unifiorm looks like cloth instead of plastic! Quote:

Get the Clone wars ARF Trooper (the green and grey clad one with removable helmet) for an awesome generic trooper- I've got one with the extra head Beachhead comes with 9helmet/gas mask) and a jet pack- once I repaint him and add a SHIELD decal, he'll be a "capekiller" from CW! For army builders, we still need Ultimatium goons and SHadow Council goons too...and the HYDRA elite troopers with the WWI style helmets and trenchcoats... We could also get Doombots (the kind that dont look like Doom- purple Sentinel looking things). And robots- lots of generic kilbots! Last edited by Jason Abbadon; 09-10-2011 at 08:29 PM.. |
